I rejected a place at a top university.⁠
⁠
At 18, the world looked a lot different than it does now...

Its not perfect now when it comes to representation or biases or even human understanding...

But at 18, I kept thinking, what job opportunities would be available for me, a woman wearing the veil…⁠

I mean who would even take me seriously…⁠
⁠
When people found out including my tutors they couldn't understand why….I had all A s⁠ (A* didn't exist for A levels back then)

I even delayed applying because I didn't want to sit with the feelings of not going, not owning my power, fear of what it *could* mean for me afterwards....

I knew this would happen ⁠
⁠
I knew I would apply, I would get in and then not go.⁠
⁠
I was afraid I'd have to explain myself to my tutors and classmates and then colleagues…⁠
⁠
I was afraid of not fitting in⁠
⁠
Of not looking like everyone else⁠
⁠
So when Queen Mary London accepted me for Business Management degree, I didn't reply.⁠
⁠
Somehow, I'd made myself believe that it wasn't for me, that I'd never truly fit in anywhere.⁠

And that hurt. ⁠
⁠
It hurt a lot.⁠
⁠
I remember it felt like I killed a part of myself. ⁠
Even though I had a passion for learning and business, I played it safe and didn't go and opted for distance learning instead and got a BA (hons) in Social sciences⁠

I was still left with the same feeling ...what am I going to do as a job with the veil on.⁠

what institution will respect my values, will I not have to fight harder than white privileged folk to get a job...

I really feel for that Jamila.. Truly, I mourn for her and the parts of herself she tied up because of her fears of what society would react like, the hardships she may have to endure..

Fast forward a couple of years and I believe so differently now.⁠

I'm so glad I rejected that university ⁠

I truly believe there are no limits…⁠

I have an amazing business which gives me way more freedom than university or a 9 to 5 could. ⁠

And I love every damn moment of it.⁠

Everyday I get to break past barriers and limiting beliefs other people hold about what a woman can do, ⁠
what a Muslim woman can do⁠
What a Muslim woman wearing the hijab can do
what a Muslim woman wearing the hijab and veil can do.⁠

Whatever is right now a story in your mind about why you can't do or be something can be shifted.⁠

How good are you willing your life to get?

I personally do this a lot.

When you answer it you will see how you are the one blocking yourself from what you desire.

You'll see where exactly you're limiting or blocking yourself from deeper growth

When you open your eyes to seeing you haven't dreamt bigger enough, bolder enough, you have the chance to expand.

To grow deeper in ways you haven't imagined possible.

You stretch your container, your capacity

Your ability to recieve

Your ability to call in what you want.

You see the self imposed glass ceiling, upper limit you have created for yourself.

Because you'll see exactly where the point is where you say to yourself ....'oh I can't have more than THAT!'

Dreaming, visualising, goal setting is one thing

But asking yourself how deeply am I willing my life to get better than I imagine?

How good am I willing my life to get?

You'll instantly see your self imposed restrictions and upper limits.

And that's where you hit your block of recieving even more.

Where you are actually blocking your current success.

E.g. 'I would loveee to make 6 figures a year, that would make me very happy'

But the moment you think into 7 figures, what happens? What do you notice in yoir body?

Does it contract? Does it tighten? Do you want to just stop thinking and feeling?

There's your point of resistance

And the thing is that resistance is actually stopping you from hitting thr 6 figures THIS year.

It's stopping all the other desires.

This is where the identity work shifts the timeline, the trajectory for how good you're willing your life to get.

The moment you clear out the deeper inner blocks to receiving is the moment you shift.

To a new identity.

And I'm not just talking about receiving help, money, support.

This is deeper.

This is supporting your self deeper.

This is having what you desire just because.

Receiving in your being.

That your being is enough.
