Training 2-3 times per week at high intensity is all you need.
Why?
Systemic recovery: When training to momentary muscle failure at high intensity, the nervous system will need at least a full days rest to have a better chance of full recovery. The stronger you get and heavier weights you lift will mean more recovery is needed.
The system feeds the muscles.
If the system is under recovered it cannot allow maximum neural drive to the muscles.
If the muscles don’t get the option to turn on then you can’t lift as much.
To stimulate the body to change, your muscles threshold will need to be met. Once this is met or turned on, the signal has been sent to get you stronger.
Of course you could train everyday at low intensity, but the body will not get much stronger or have the right stimulus for change when looking at strength.
