Andy got in touch asking if I recognised this location, I'm far from certain but I think it might be Loch an Iasgaich on the River Inver? The lady fishing is his great aunt and the photograph is dated 1903! 😲
Any other ideas on possible locations?

A small stream day with Billy. This year has brought more of a mix of lochs and streams, but you know how much the wee burns excite me — and I'm always glad when I can pass that passion on to clients 🙂

A tough but atmospheric day for Stoyan & Simo. They stuck at it and eventually Simo was rewarded with his Scottish trout.

And despite the weather's best efforts they enjoyed getting to know the 'real' Scottish Highlands. 🙂

A few days late with this post, but things have been a bit crazy lately! 😵‍💫

You may remember a post from a few weeks back with Ken from Hardy Fly Fishing up to Fionn Loch? Well, it was so good I just had to return there with Zjaak from the Netherlands, who was keen to explore further up the loch, using the boat (now with upgraded engine) from Assynt Angling Club.

After a great start swinging wets on the Upper Kirkaig, we headed all the way up the loch, went ashore and took the short walk to the Uidh an Fhearna river.

Although the river was a little lower than expected, it still delivered the goods. Many, many feisty Brown Trout and we both hooked but lost a few really nice specimens.

This river took up so much of our time we ended up only having literally half-a-dozen casts on the east end of Fionn once back at the boat but we again were into fish straight away and actually finished this incredible trip with a double hook-up and simultaneous release!

Perfect! 🎣👌
