40 Years of the McKerlie Pairs
A fantastic day of bowling saw 18 teams from Oban, Lochgilphead, Ardrishaig, Tarbert and Campbeltown compete for the McKerlie Open Pairs trophy.
There were some excellent bowls, plenty of close games and it was especially great to welcome back 3 youth teams from Campbeltown.
The final couldn't have been closer. Two Lochgilphead teams battled it out in the final with a draw of 5 each after 5 ends, taking the match into an extra end. Brothers Ross and Alan edged 2 in front to lift the trophy. Well done boys and congratulations to all who took part!
A huge thank you to the Lochgilphead Community Shop for sponsoring the event and to the Angus Family for donating the wonderful array of raffle prizes. This is the 40th year that the Angus family have supported the competition. The support of the Angus family and our local businesses make days like this possible, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.

🏆 Burnside Open Triples 2026 🏆

A fantastic day of bowling saw 14 teams from Oban, Lochgilphead, Ardrishaig, Tarbert and Campbeltown compete for the Burnside Open Triples trophy.

There were some excellent bowls, plenty of close games and it was especially great to welcome two youth teams from Campbeltown.

The final couldn't have been closer. Defending champions Angus Brodie's team drew 4-4 with Robert Todd's team after five ends, taking the match into an extra end. It all came down to the very last bowl, with Robert Todd's team edging the victory to lift the trophy. Congratulations to all who took part!
