West Argyll Ladies Finals

A fantastic day of bowls hosted by Lochgilphead today, with players from Lochgilphead, Tarbert and Oban competing in four knockout competitions. Despite some challenging weather, everyone battled hard and enjoyed a great day of bowls.

🏆 Triples – Liz, Rose and Lynne (Lochgilphead)
🏆 Rinks – Liz, Christine, Fiona and Margaret (Lochgilphead)

A huge thank you to Jean, Mary and Liz for a wonderful lunch, delicious cakes, and the endless supply of tea and coffee that kept everyone going throughout the day. Your hard work and hospitality were greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to all the winners, and well done to everyone who took part and helped make it such an enjoyable day.

Another fantastic weekend of bowls!
Our members' triples teams battled it out in a Round Robin tournament for the IK Fleming Trophy, with 7 teams taking to the green in search of glory.
Congratulations to Ginge, Margaret and David, who claimed the trophy, and to Ewan, Grant and Verina for finishing as worthy runners-up.
It was very much a game of two halves. The morning gave us lovely dry conditions, but by the afternoon the weather had clearly decided to join the competition! 🌧️ One rink eventually became unplayable after turning into something more suitable for ducks than bowlers.
Thankfully, the rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits. If anything, it added to the laughs and made for an even more memorable day on the green! 👏🏆

Congratulations Oban!
Friday evening at Lochgilphead Bowling Club saw Oban Bowling Club crowned as the West Argyll League Champions following the final round of matches.

Competing clubs were Oban, Lochgilphead, Ardrishaig and Tarbert, with players showing great spirit and determination despite the wet weather conditions.
Heading into the 4th round, Oban held onto their lead to secure the title and lift the trophy after an excellent league battle.

Final positions were:
Oban – 18 points
Tarbert – 15 points
Lochgilphead – 11 points
Ardrishaig – 4 points

A sincere thank you goes to all the participating clubs for their hospitality and hosting such a special event, which provided a wonderful start to the bowling season.
