Llantwit Major 10k

Llantwit Major 10k Sunday 13th September 2026- 10K-5k-1k Llantwit Major 10k was set up to honour the late David Synan’s love of running.

The first trail event of August 2015 was such a success, the committee and volunteers decided to make this an annual event. The 2nd LM10K in 2016 built on the success of the event, and doubled the field of runners. This event was organised by people who are passionate about running who wish to encourage all generations to get active and just maybe ‘enjoy running’. This event was made possible by t

he amazing support of local businesses. The course is mainly off road, through ancient woodland, public footpaths and farm lanes, taking in the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and offering cliff top views across the Bristol Channel to Somerset, Devon, and inland across the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan.

🏃‍♀️🏆 LLANTWIT MAJOR 5K 2026 – WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG? 🌧️😂

Alesha headed to the Llantwit Major 5K and came home with the 1st Female trophy! 🥇🏆

Easy, right?

Well… not quite. 😂

At some point Alesha decided the race needed a bit more distance and took a wrong turn, adding roughly 400m of bonus mileage to her 5K! 🤦‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Meanwhile, Nick "The Bullet" decided to take on Rhondda AC youngsters Lilah Pugh and Indianna Jones.

They even gave him a head start.

It didn't help.

The Bullet got absolutely THRASHED. 😂💨

Then came the revelation that this wasn't simply a nice, relaxing 5K. Apparently there were walls to climb and fields to run through.

The Bullet had not factored any of this into his carefully researched race strategy of “just keep moving and hope for the best.” 🤣

A massive WELL DONE to everyone who took part! 👏👏 The weather was absolutely biblical, but everyone battled through it.

Huge thanks to all the running club coaches who work with these athletes week in, week out, in all weathers. And a massive thank you to the organisers, marshals and supporters who stood out in the pouring rain to keep everyone safe and encourage us around the course. ❤️👏

. Key points for tomorrow . You can collect your bib from 8.30 onwards. The event starts at Llantwit major football club. There is plenty of parking at the train station, a 5 minute walk away.
10k race starts at 10
5k race starts at 11
1k race starts at 12.30 - bring your children to sign up and collect bib from 11. 30. £1 per entry .
If you have pre-ordered a t shirt they are ready for collection with the bibs. There are limited numbers available for sale on the day. Please bring cash where possible although card payments possible. Coffee and bacon rolls available to buy! Come along and support if you are not running!!
