Nobody should be subjected to abuse, but that’s exactly what happened this morning to one of our brilliant coaches. Who we might add is a volunteer.
There are rules in place for a reason. Respect them.
We thank Llanharan Miners Welfare Hall & Fields for their swift action in supporting our volunteers and children.
Dogs are not allowed onto the pitch. Simple.
We are absolutely appalled by the behaviour witnessed today.
A dog owner chose to take their dog onto a rugby pitch while children were actively playing, allowed it to foul the playing surface, and then became abusive and created a scene when politely reminded that there is a by-law prohibiting dogs from being on the pitch in the first place.
This isn't about dog who is controlled by it's owener it is about basic respect, common decency and following rules that exist to protect the health and safety of everyone using the facilities, especially children!.
No child should have to play on a pitch contaminated with dog faeces, and no volunteer, coach or member of the public should be subjected to abuse for pointing out the rules.
The level of entitlement and complete disregard shown today was deeply disappointing!
We all share responsibility for looking after our community spaces. If we can't show respect for each other and for the facilities our children use, then we need to ask ourselves what sort of example we're setting!
We also ask does the community deserve such a facility? We appreciate it is the minority but without volunteers there is no facility to abuse.
We take a zero tolerance approach to abuse and you are on CCTV 8 cameras of CCTV!
