Very unlucky with the result today, on a fairly tough playing field. We played well in spells and threatened well. Just unable to get the final shot off.

Llanharan 1-1 Red Knights
Welfare Park

On a very muddy pitch in Llanharan, the Knights started off the game well, keeping the ball on the ground and moving across the pitch. Both teams showed willing off the mark and the midfield was going to be a major factor in the game. Both teams pressed for an opportunity on goal, and both teams showing a resilient defence. After a couple of fouls and a downpour of rain, it was our captain of the day "Oz" who showed the class of the midfeld, with a brilliantly taken 25 yard shot that fizzled into the far right side of the goals. 0-1 Knights.

Continued pressure and a couple offside calls kept the Knights infront. It was the long balls played over the top to our striker Jeppy, who had several chances on goal, that caused the Llanharan defence some problems. A chance fell to Rich who had a cracking shot saved from Llans keeper. Several more challenges, and with the conditions not getting better made for a very scrappy last 10 mins. Half time 0-1 Knights.

We started the second half strong considering the slippy conditions. Continued pressure from both ends showed with the centre of the pitch just being a bog. A lifted ball over the top for Jeppy to run on to looked like the Knights were on for a second. The Llan defence was strong and we had a freekick, but nothing came from it. With continued pressure from the Knights with long balls being played over the top, it was Graham who had the best opportunity of the half, rounding the keeper and going for goal. Sadly the ball slowed up towards the line and was cleared away. Still 0-1 Knights

What followed can only be explained as scrappy. Some very heavy challenges, paired with a pitch which kept soaking up every pass led to some cautious times for the Knights. The Llan defence was on point and stopped every attack we had. A goal from Llanharan was imminent, and with a freekick in a dangerous place looked to be the leveller. Knights keeper Baker produced what was probably the best save of the day to deny Llan. The following corner seemed to be final straw for the Knights defence, as a free header from the corner was put away. 1-1

A tough last 10 minutes for the boys showed with several players cramping up and feeling tired. This wasnt helped with a break away for Llanharan, who put it over the bar.

The referee finally blew the whistle for full time.

With our next game not until 11th December, we can take some valuable point from this game.

Knights 1-5 Whitestars

With a bare 11 for the home team this Sunday didn't get off to a good start. Knights stared off well keeping the ball on the ground. Pressure from Whitestars started early on, testing our keeper who made a good save to push the ball wide. An onslaught of pressure from the Whitestars caused the Knights to play really defensively. A well worked move down the left side from the whitestars earned them a corner. Corner was whipped into the box and headed into the back of the net. 0-1 Whitestars.

Knights set off to redeem themselves with a push for a more contained game, passing the ball around between the midfield and defence. A few breaks forward for Knights striker Dan Lockyer but a very compact defence was stopping every shot. Another breakaway for Whitestars and a long range shot forced Knights keeper into another great save, pushing the ball out for a corner. Ball was swung into the area, half cleared away. The ball was then played back into the box where the Knights were simply outnumbered on the back post. 0-2 Whitestars.

A couple of very silly challenges and sloppy play resulted in Jordan getting booked for the Knights. Several more attacks from Whitestar eventually ended up in another goal. This time a lofted ball played over the top and a simple tap in off the post. 0-3 Whitestars

Knights looked down and out, but a good moment of passing play in the midfield opened up some space for Lockyer to run into. Sadly the Whitestar defence was on point and shut him out quickly. Half time score 0-3 Whitestars

Second half started a lot better from the Knights, who changed to a narrower formation. The ball was being passed around with more confidence now. There was still a fight on for the boys! The eagerness was there, as the Knights were chasing down every lose ball they could. A lovely passage of play down the left side of the pitch resulted in a freekick, which was swing in and headered just wide. Chance missed for the Knights first goal. After a good pressing play from the Knights, some good footwork from the Whitestars enabled them through, with a last ditch tackle preventing the 4th goal. A corner was given, which was played in from the right side. Knights looked outnumbered yet again on the back post and the ball was headed in. 0-4 Whitestars.

Both teams had equal amounts of chances, with both keepers making some excellent saves. Another good passage of play from the Knights allowed the ball through to Lockyer who just put the ball wide of the post. It was end to end stuff. More chances created from the Knights, with several freekicks testing the keeper and the defence of Whitestar. Whitestar pressed forward and were awarded a freekick just outside the box, and with that came goal number 5. The ball fizzled passed the wall and into the near post. 0-5 Whitestars.

Several more chances created by the Knights, with more shots being blocked or going just wide of the goals. A long range effort from Josh Booth finally found the back of the net. The 25 yard strike curled and dipped right into the bottom left corner. 1-5 Whitestar.

An edgy last 5 minutes ensued but the game was over.

Final score: Knights 1-5 Whitestar.

Red Knights 1-2 Superfox

On a wet sunday morning up the Cae, and after much deliberation, we got the game under way on what could only be described as a very boggy pitch. We started off well, keeping the ball on the close and moving across the pitch nicely. We took the best chance of the half with a lovely lofted ball over the back line, after a lot of pushing from left to right. The ball landed perfectly for Graham, who took it around the keeper and sent it.... over the bar!!!!

Continued press and a couple offside traps kept the Knights infront. Sadly that could not be kept, and the knights conceded the first goal (with some very dubious free kick claims). A freekick was whipped in from the right side, with Superfox attacking with a header. Knights keeper Connor Ford made an excellent save to deny the header, but it fell infront of the line for an easy tap in. Knights trailed 1-0.

We started the second half strong, with substitute Ben Filipe coming on. Some sloppy play in the slippy conditions led to the away team doubling their lead with a ball over the top from their defence. Ex Knights player Cai was there to slot home the second goal for Superfox, 2-0.

We pressed hard, looking to use any speed we could down the left side. A beautiful ball was played through the middle of the field, out to Ben. He pushed towards goal and was taken down in the area. Penalty to Knights. Up steps Graham, who calmly send the ball into the net. Knights 1-2.

After a lot more pressing, heavy tackling and a few words exchanged between the players it left the Knights with a freekick with a minute to spare. A long ball into the box but a strong Superfox defence managed to stop every shot we threw at them.

The referee finally blew the whistle for full time.
