We have had two very enjoyable social events this week. Both involving croquet and food.
The first was Captains' Day. A delicious spread was provided by the Captains and some fun golf croquet was played.
On Saturday evening, the evening of the longest day, members of Craig y Don Croquet Club were invited for a social evening again playing fun golf croquet and enjoying refreshments.

A group of adults with special needs enjoyed an afternoon of croquet. They belong to Gogarth Trefoil and these are ladies who have been Girlguides and Rangers and are now members of a group who follow Girlguiding principles and help and support Girlguiding.

An excellent day yesterday at our Try Croquet afternoon with afternoon tea. A lot of people turned up and enjoyed playing and the tea.

Yesterday was the 2026 season's official opening of the club although we have been playing for a few weeks. We enjoyed several friendly games and very tasty, and in some cases quite unusual flavoured hot cross buns.

A good chance to get together, chat and congratulate the winners of the competitions during the year. Also to celebrate Sarah Andrew's Diploma for services to croquet (very well deserved) and Marion' s upcoming 99th birthday.

On Saturday 5th July 4 members of the Short Lawn travelled to North Wales to play at Llanfairfechan.
This pretty club is nestled inbetween the mountains and the coast, overlooking Anglesey and this year we even got blue skies and some sunshine !
After a competitive days play Fylde came out on top with 10 wins to 6.
