🥶❄️Stoked to get these images back from the awesome Frederick Fennessy down in Antarctica on Expedition 90 South. Freddie is currently crushing a solo South Pole trek and was able to send these images back with the Iridium Go! supplied by us here at Victory Adventures.

🛰️🌎Using the global coverage offered by the Iridium constellation of satellites you are able to send text, images and make voice calls from ANYWHERE on the planet. There is also text, email and weather information at your fingertips.

📞📸For just £200 per month we can supply the hardware rental and unlimited data/text and 150 minutes of call time a month. All inclusive, no upfront equipment costs and everything you need to keep you in touch, wherever you are!!

What a weekend!! That’s is the last of the Pre Shipping Inspections for the fleet of the 2024 .toughest.row - Atlantic all done. The next time we see these awesome crews and individuals will be in La Gomera in December.

I am phenomenally privileged to able to spend time each year with a group of such adventurous spirits and am massively inspired them all still to this day. Normal men and women from around the world, doing the hard work, the hours of prep, the time in the gym, on the oars and at sea on their boats, slogging through the endless fundraising and merciless corporate sponsorship rejections and denials and sooo much more.

If they have what it takes to get to the start line I certainly wouldn’t bet against any of them to make it all the way, victoriously to Antigua!

KIT DROP!!!!

The awesome guys at .marine have sent us a treasure trove of goodies to try out. These guys are the leaders in the marine and maritime illumination game. We first came across the Exposure brand years ago in the Mountain Biking world and were blow away by them so super excited to see how the marine kit performs! 🚣‍♂️🔦💡

We have the RAW (red and white) PRO, aka The Ultimate Marine Head Torch, the 1000 lumen Crew Carbon flashlight with water activated strobe function and MOB technology, the tiny Spot Me strobe and the 120 lumen torch and strobe, wearable crew tracker and Core from the OLAS (overboard location alert system) range.

Look out for a blog in the coming weeks when we’ve had a chance to play with it all in the water! Can’t wait!!!

Good comms in the field is ESSENTIAL… It can't be stressed enough how crucial a reliable means of communication whilst on expedition can be. During my own Atlantic Ocean row, our sat comms were our lifeline - keeping us safe and connected when the going got tough. As part of the Safety Team for the event since 2019 we have relied heavily on satellite phones and BGAN for all manner of ends, be it co-ordinating a mid ocean rescue effort, diagnosing medical issues or technical problems, assisting with route selection and weather information or just to offer encouragement or a morale boost.

Whether you're scaling mountains, crossing oceans, or trekking through deserts, having reliable comms can make or break your adventure. And it's not just about safety (though that's huge!) - it's about sharing your journey, staying in touch with loved ones, and having peace of mind, all of which is still very possible with the right kit and know how.
