On Your Bike

It's with a heavy heart I have had to close On Your Bike. It's been 11 years since I started 10 years in the town centre. It has been 3 yrs since Andrew died, and I have desperately tried to stay open. A combination of location, a wet spring, and summer and my own health issues have left me with no choice but to close. If you have a bike in for repair, I will contact you in the next couple of days. If you're a supplier again, I will be in contact. If you rely on my support in other ways, letter writing, and other things, you can message me, and I will give you my number. It has been a privilege meeting all of you. Norman Kevin and I will miss you all terribly. Xx

Llanelli Augustfest 2024 makes its return THIS Saturday and we can’t wait!

I am so sick of having theses conversations with people and with a growing concern of how many illegal eBike conversations flying around our Town Centre, being ridden by teenagers and adults alike. First thing these conversions are a fire risk, there was one just outside my shop, I have never seen such dubious wiring.

So this is the Law in the UK:

Key Electric Bike Laws in the UK
Electric bikes must have pedals to propel it
E-bikes must have a maximum power output of 250 watts
The bike must show the power output (i.e. wattage) on the frame
The bike must show the manufacturer of the motor
The bike must show the battery’s voltage
The bike must show the maximum speed of the bike
The electric motor must not be able to propel the bike beyond 15.5mph
Throttles cannot propel the bike beyond 3.7mph
You can ride an electric bike anywhere you can ride a pedal bicycle (see UK cycling laws)
Electric bikes can be ridden on roads
Electric bikes can be ridden on bike paths and trails
Electric bikes can’t be ridden on pavements
You don’t legally need to wear a helmet (although it is recommended)
You don’t legally need insurance
You must be at least 14 years old to ride an electric
