⭐️Confidence builds confidence. I think we have all been there⭐️
Here are three psychological methods to build workout confidence in cycling:
1. Before a ride, mentally picture yourself successfully completing your workout or reaching your goals. Imagine the sensation of riding smoothly and finishing strong. Visualisation helps condition your mind for success and can reduce anxiety during rides.
2. Replace any negative or doubtful thoughts with encouraging affirmations. Remind yourself of past accomplishments or tell yourself that you are capable and improving. Positive self-talk can boost your mental resilience, helping you push through tough moments in your workout.
3. Keep a log of your rides, noting improvements in distance, speed, or how you felt. Reflecting on your progress over time reinforces a sense of accomplishment, helping you build confidence by recognising how far you’ve come. This evidence of improvement can motivate you when you’re feeling uncertain.
