Congrats to Llew Matthews, our new Men’s Captain, and Shaun Purdie, our new Boys Captain 👏

Shaun steps up from Acting Boys Captain in 2025 and will lead Wales at the U18 Match v Ireland (March), European Team Championships in Spain, and the Home Internationals at Monifieth (August 2026). A huge congratulations to Shaun, who helped guide the Boys to one of our highest-ever qualifying finishes at the 2025 Boys European Team Championships.

Llew moves into the Men’s Captaincy after his outstanding work as Boys Captain. A former Welsh Amateur Champion, St Andrews Links Trophy winner, Walker Cup player, and Open Championship qualifier, his experience will be invaluable as he succeeds Jon Williams, who steps down after four excellent years.
