Cumbria Open, our final outing before we head to Croatia for the Karate 1 Youth League.

A mixed bag of results, but sometimes performances tell a very different story to medals.

The effort, attitude and performances on display today couldn’t have asked for much more…. Especially so close to a big event. Plenty learned, plenty gained, and plenty to be excited about.

Congratulations .karate gaining 3rd in Senior Male Kata.

Next stop: Poreč 🇭🇷🥋.

Building Something Bigger for Karate in Wales 🥋

This Saturday we will be holding the first formal meeting of Sh*to Ryu Karate Wales Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).

The aim is simple:

✅ Create a sustainable not-for-profit structure for our squad programme and wider community
✅ Increase opportunities for athletes across Wales
✅ Access funding and grants unavailable to private businesses
✅ Support athlete development, coaching, education and community projects
✅ Build a stronger pathway for future generations

Over the coming months we’ll be sharing more information about how this will benefit athletes, families and the wider community.

James Beards made it to Rep Final in the Sh*to Ryu World Championships in Hungary.

🥋 COMMONWEALTH CHAMPIONSHIPS 🥋

A huge congratulations to the following athletes from Llandudno Karate who have been selected to represent Wales at this year’s Commonwealth Karate Championships

• Emmanuel Major – Senior Male Kata & Junior Male Kata
• James Beards – U21 Male Kata
• Ioan Beards – Junior Male Kata & Para Kata
• Macie Williams – Junior Female Kata
• Tosia Harris – Cadet Female Kata

An incredible achievement for all athletes involved, and a reflection of the hard work, consistency, and standards shown week after week inside the dojo.

To have five athletes selected across Cadet, Junior, U21, Senior, and Para categories is something we are extremely proud of as a club and association.

Special mention also to:
• Ben Hughes, who trains with our squad, selected for Cadet Kumite
• Ryan Moore, who trains at our North Wales Performance Weekends, selected for Senior Male Kata

This is another massive moment for our athletes, our coaching team, and the continued growth of karate in North Wales 🥋
