Last weekend a number of our athletes travelled the short distance to Cholomendy Castle in Malpas, Cheshire, for the Cholomendy Multi Sport Festival.
Amongst our athletes taking part were five of our talented juniors, and it was evident that all the hard work they put in on a Thursday evening is starting g to pay dividends.
Enya Maguire once again put in a fantastic performance in the Tristars 2 category, for athletes aged 11 & 12 years old, coming away with a second place in the Female category πŸ₯ˆ
While Georgia Thomas also put in a brilliant performance in the same race, finishing seventh female πŸ…
In Tristars 1, for athletes aged 8-10 years old, Llywelyn Wynne continued his impressive improvement finishing fourth overall πŸ… while team mate Connor Thomas finished seventeenth overall πŸ… Blaiddyn Wynne, continued to improve with every race, finishing in twenty seventh place, but more importantly, with a huge smile on his face 😁

A bit closer to home now, and yesterday saw three of our club athletes enjoy some glorious Welsh weather at the Abersoch Triathlons.
In the standard distance race, held in the morning, both Rob Stewart (pictured), and Lee Evans were racing, with Lee crossing the finish line in 2.36.33 taking 4th in his age group, and Rob finishing in 3.15.06, taking 9th in his age categoryπŸ…
In the afternoon's sprint distance event, Phil Tracey was our only competitor, and he stormed home to a 2nd place in his age group with a finishing time of 1.42.25 πŸ₯ˆ

It's been a busy weekend for our club athletes with various events taking place up and down the country. But we start with something a bit special, Paula Turner, who completed the Chillswim Coniston End to End swim.
Recognised as one of the classic open water swimming events in the country, athletes swim the full 5.25 mile mile length on Coniston Water, in the Lake District.
Starting from the southern end and finishing at Monk Coniston Country House on the northern shore, Paula absolutely smashed it, finishing in a time of just over 3 hours and 15 minutes 🏊
A fantastic achievement πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

There’s some stories you hear that are just so good you have to share…..

Here’s Nadine, we love Nadine. Today Nadine decided to do . Great choice!

9 o’clock on the dot, Nadine was at the start line. Nadine was feeling lonely as no one else had turned up!

Undeterred Nadine set off to get her run done. Well done Nadine, this is the sort of can do/must do attitude that gets results- no wonder Nadine is flying this year…

A couple of km’s in, the lead runners of the new Conwy Parkrun course, came thundering past. That’s right folks Nadine had forgotten that Conwy Park Run had reverted back to its original route with the start back at the RSPB.

Lets take a moment to applaud Nadine, have a chuckle that she got the start point wrong, but a hell yeah for getting it done anyway!

Another race taking place over the weekend was the Porthcawl Standard Distance Triathlon, which was also the second race in the Triathlon Cymru Welsh Super Series.
With so many events going on over the weekend, only three of our athletes managed to make the long trip down to South Wales for this event.
In a case of "quality, not quantity", those three athletes certainly put themselves and the club on the map, with Rhian Roxburgh leading the way taking the overall win in the Female race, plus setting a new female course record of 2.19.32, and taking 25th place overall in the process πŸ†
Nadine Philips continued her impressive start to the race season, taking 3rd place in her age group, crossing the finish line in 3.11.42 πŸ₯‰
Hot on her heels was the ever dependable Paula Stevens, who crossed the finish line in a time of 3.20.34, taking a well deserved 4th place in her age group πŸ…

Chris put all his recent training to good use, finishing 5th overall and 3rd in his age group in a time of 2.29.02πŸ₯‰

Over the weekend four of our fantastic athletes had the honour of representing Great Britain at the European Triathlon Championships in Tarragona, situated in Spain's Catalonia region.
Taking part in Saturday's Sprint Distance race was Darren Thompson, who, in a stacked field of Europe's best athletes, finished in 38th place in the Open 55-59 age group in a time of 1.23.55 πŸ…
Sunday saw the Olympic Distance race take place with three of our club members taking part. Andy Jones was our first athlete to cross the finish line in a time of 2.07.06, finishing 6th in the Open 30-34 category πŸ…
Finishing in a time of 2.15.25 was Paul Manington, who came home in 18th place in the Open 45-49 category πŸ…
In the Open 60-64 Age Group, Paul Algieri was once again showing age is just a number, finishing in 6th place in a time of 2.23.55 πŸ…
Well done guys. Great to see you all get the recognition you deserve for all the hard work you've been putting in πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
