This year the British Bowls International Series will be held in Ayr, Scotland later this month.

The annual Helen Gough Pairs was held yesterday in scorching weather.

This years winners were Rhian & Awel Jones (Tregaron BC) who beat Tim
Butten & Nick Randell (Lampeter BC) in closely fought final.

Semi-finalists (not pictured) were Dan Butler & Rhys Jackson (Llanbradach BC) and Andrew & James Wason (Harlequins BC)

The plate winners were John Carpenter & Steve Jones (Llandrindod BC) and Martin Phillips & Jamie James (Aberystwyth Queens Road)

𝗪𝗟𝗕 𝗨𝟭𝟴 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠

Congratulations to the WLB Under-18 International Team, who have been selected to compete at the British Bowls U18 Championships, taking place from 18–20 July 2026 at Royal Leamington Spa Bowling Club.

Following today’s trial at Llandrindod Wells Bowling Club, Welsh selectors named a squad of 14 players, along with two non-travelling reserves.

The team captain for the series will be Oliver Price of Merthyr West End, with Sophie Regan of Ammanford appointed as vice-captain.

Team Managers Jamie Brown and Anwen Butten MBE, alongside men’s selector Steve Jackson, will travel with the squad to support the team throughout the series.

Further information will be shared with the selected players in the coming weeks.

The club have recently held two successful markers courses in preparation for the European Championships in September with markers attending from various clubs in Wales.

The courses were run in Brecon & Llandrindod Wells by the Welsh Bowls Umpires Association and our thanks to Huw & Eddie for their work in doing so.

Congratulations to Alan Bates who yesterday won 2025/26 Welsh indoor Bowls Senior Singles 🏆

Alan won the title at Newport IBC with an excellent performance in the final winning 21-11.
