My first THE RAINHILL TRIALS // FITNESS EVENTS recap π
Kennedy (inters) cat π
Event 1 (wod 3) - the one i was least looking forward to because dubs are my nemesis thanks to my shins. My only goal was to hold them together unbroken aaaand it actually meant i overpaced it massively π They did however hold together so that was fab. My lowest placing workout meant i was starting the day in 26th - thankfully i thrive on working my way up π₯
Winter training will deff mean less running but more time to work on those dubs!
Event 2 (wod 1+2) - Hit my βf**k itβ sn**ch attempt at 50kg!! A new hang pb and showing me my full sn**ch pb is no longer 50 π€© So cool to get to do that on the comp floor!!
Into the ttb + thrusters - beat what i hit in training π₯³ Gave me a 6th place in the sn**ch portion and 9th on part B which brought me into 16th place overall.
Event 3 (WOD 4) - acid bath ew π
The one i knew would be horrible! Hit every single erg under 2 mins - i have never done that on either the ski or bike - if theres one thing i consistently hate its ergs! Knocked nearly a min off what i got in my test run of it!! π€― This one meant alot cus i always say βim not that fitβ, i dread these kinda workouts because i have legit come last at them multiple times. Expected this one to take me back down the leader board but it brought me up to 13th π
Engine building has been paying off!!
Event 4 (WOD 5) - the one i was most looking forward to!! Running and gymnastics is a fab combo for me - ive worked really hard on the skills side and have wanted to test the pullups for AGES! Sitting in 13th i could see it was my chance to lay my best card down and attempt to move into top 10! So we wore the matchy matchy new unicorn set and sent it π¦ and we sent it haaaaard, came in 3rd on the run portion, unbroken cleans and then laid it down on the pullup - which was where i took the lead and kept it for my first ever heat win!! π Gave me my highest placing of the day with an overall 3rd π€© AND bumped me into 8th π₯³
I had theeeeee best day out there, was so awesome to see all the training finally pay off!! Literally beat everything i did in training and then some π
The fact id anticipated i could make midpack overall and then came in top 10 is insane to me. I bloody love competing because i constantly prove myself wrong.
Hands down my fave event of the yr, was lovely to meet so many supportive girls and share the experience π Now we prep and get ready to do it all again in November π€©
