Today saw our annual 'Turkey trot' stableford golf competition.

With the forecasted rain staying away for the whole 18 Holes, the wind more than made up for this making club selection and scoring much more difficult for the great prizes

Today's winners were

1st Mark Clent 35 points (on count back)
2nd Danny Waters 35 points
3rd Paddy Lawlor 34 points
4th Simon Waters 33 points

Nearest to pin on 6th- Jamie Waters

As a club we would like to wish all our Members and Sponsors a Merry Christmas and thankyou for your continued support.

We are pleased to have a couple of new sponsors join us for the season, namely The Whitehall and Llandovery Dental Practice! Also a big thanks to Stan Archer and family for renewing their sponsorship with us for yet another season. Extremely grateful to you all as well as our other sponsors for your gratitude.

We are pleased to see a significant increase in the number of players enjoying the course recently. However, it is concerning that a number of individuals playing are not current club members, have not paid green fees, or are not affiliated with Llandovery College.

To ensure fair use and the continued upkeep of the course, committee members will now be carrying out regular checks on various evenings to verify memberships and green fee payments. We kindly ask for your cooperation should you be approached. Please note that anyone found to be playing without a valid membership, paid green fee, or appropriate college affiliation will be asked to leave the course. (Details of how to gain membership or pay green fees are below.)

We are proud of our course, but as a small club, ongoing maintenance is essential and comes at a cost. Our annual membership rates are very reasonable and contribute directly to the upkeep and improvement of our facilities.

We also kindly remind players to use the designated tee boxes, particularly on the sixth hole. There have been instances of players teeing off to the left of the fifth green and not replacing divots. Please help us preserve the quality of the course for everyone by adhering to proper playing etiquette.

By becoming a member, you not only gain unlimited access to the course throughout the year but also the opportunity to participate in our regular competitions, held on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

The past couple of days a number of members from the golf club participated in the third annual Travellers Cup. This year saw the boys travel across the border to the Bristol area playing Manor House on Sunday and The Bristol Golf Club on Monday. The cup is competed over Stableford format and the winner declared by the player scoring the most points over the two rounds.

Mark Clent scoring 72 points took home the trophy with Celfyn Davies and Simon Waters finishing in second and third respectively out of 15 participants.

Two tremendous courses which were held in high regard by all players. Thank you The Manor House & The Bristol Golf Club for allowing us the opportunity. Thanks must also go to Rich Edwards of Great Days Golf for doing the hard yards in getting us a flawless trip including the hotel along with post round food. Marc De Marigny of Olorun also had high praise from the boys for helping the group look sharp on the first day with our Travellers Cup polos. Tip of the hat also to Ian RileySports for the trophies.

Counting down the days until the next one, see you soon at the first…. 🫡 🏌🏼‍♂️

What a weekend! Another great turnout for Sundays competition for the fourth weekend in a row has got this seasons summer league off to a great start! This Sunday was a little more special however as Richard Morgan equalled Lee Bullock’s course record of a 1 under par 61! A fantastic score in difficult condition, well done Rich!

Tonight the Nine Hole summer league continues from 6pm shotgun start. All members welcome. Some members will be participating in this years Travellers Cup over the weekend though Sundays 18 hole summer league will continue as normal.

With the new sponsorship and membership 2025/26 golf season starting in May, we must again thank our sponsors that have renewed or become first time sponsors this season. Your support is very important to the running of the course.

We would like to welcome new sponsors, Castle Garage, LHP Accountants and GJ Mats - Bogmats, along with all our other long standing sponsors, many of whom have been with us from the reforming of the club 9 years ago. There are also a few new and returning sponsors to be revealed in the next few weeks pending new advertising boards. A huge thank you to you all!

We would also like to remind everyone that membership is also now due for this season and is payable at Morris Isaacs Garage. Alternatively you can also pay BACS. If you require these details please message the page or contact one of the committee members (Celfyn Davies, Rhys Davies, Handel Davies, Paddy Lawlor, Nicky Crocker, Richard Morgan).

If you use the course please either pay membership or green fees at Morris Isaacs as we are well aware there are a lot of people playing that don't do either.

This years rates are:

Family membership £120
Full membership £100
OAP £80
Junior/ Student £40

We as a club are affiliated to the Welsh golf union so if you want to get a handicap and start entering our competitions this is easy to do. We have a 9 hole competition on a Thursday evening at 6pm and an 18 hole competition every Sunday at 9am. Everyone is welcome!

Last Sunday saw us hold the annual Captains Drive to begin our season. On this occasion we actually had two! Richard Morgan tee’d off first as last years captain (we were unable to hold it last year due to conditions of the course) quickly followed by Josh JT Thomas. We thank Richard for his sterling efforts last year in raising over £3000 for Air Ambulance Wales and wish Josh all the best for this season.

It was also our first round of the seasons 18 hole summer league. Will Roach coming away with the victory scoring 34 points, Richard coming in second and John Clayton in third. Some lower scores than usual reflecting how well the course has come along as well as the course having a fresh rating on the slope and course.

Tomorrow, Thursday 15th we welcome back our 9 hole midweek league where balls will be drawn at 6.00pm ready for a shotgun start. All members welcome! See you on the green.

Extremely grateful for the generosity from a number of local businesses in their continued support of the golf club. Without you we simply wouldn’t be able to get out on the course and enjoy doing what we do!

If you, your company or somebody that you know are interested in supporting us and having themselves placed up on one of our tees then please get in touch with the page or contact Rhys Davies or Celfyn Davies.
