CANLYNIAD AIL DÎM 🚥

The Seconds earned an important result against a strong Dewi Stars side on Wednesday night in Dihewyd, winning 4-2 after a physical and intense battle.

The visitors went ahead after seven minutes by bundling the ball into the net off a corner, only for the boys to reply when Cameron Miles rolled his man in the box and blasted a shot past the goalkeeper. Cam then added a second to take the lead just before the break, despatching a Rhodri Jones corner kick with a first-time finish.

A constant threat throughout, Stars pushed hard for an equaliser and deservedly found one when David Jones' deflected shot looped over Jamie Davies in net.

Both sides had chances to get the crucial go-ahead goal with time ticking down – both goalkeepers made important saves and both defences important clearances – only for the Milkmen to bag it when Reuben Hopkins' excellent delivery was glanced into the top corner. The 4-2 result was sealed less than two minutes later when 16-year-old debutant Reuben spun the ball for Cam Miles to finish into the far corner.

Bouncing back from the disappointment of the opening match, last night will hopefully prove to be the kickstarter for a very young Seconds side. Da iawn bois. Amdani!

Bitesize highlights from the Firsts’ 1-1 draw against a good Rhayader side on Saturday. Ross Diamond’s deflection looped the Milkmen into the lead, only for the visitors to equalise after a clearance to the face.

CANLYNIAD TÎM CYNTAF 🚥

The Firsts welcomed Rhayader Town to Llanrhystud on Saturday, and both sides came away from what turned out to be a very wet afternoon with a point apiece.

The Milkmen were marginally the better team in the first half, creating a couple of excellent opportunities with balls across goal that weren't able to be converted.

While the boys started on the front foot after the break, scoring immediately off kick off – Ross Diamond's deflected cross looping over the Rhayader goalkeeper – and should've made it 2-0 soon after, it was the visitors who edged the second half. They equalised when a shot was deflected back into the attacker's face, and it took a couple of good Tom James saves to keep the scores elvel.

All in all, a fair result in extremely testing conditions with torrential rain turning the bare Cae Ceredig surface into an ice rink. Amdani am yr un nesa'.

DIOLCHIADAU 👏

Diolch i Rhayader for the match and all the best to them for the season to come. We're looking forward to our trip up to Y Weirglodd already.

Diolch enfawr to all the supporters that braved the wet weather to support the boys too. Not far off 100 there watching on, which is another brilliant following. A big thank you to Ray and everyone at the Black Lion Llanrhystud for their hospitality after the match.

CANLYNIAD AIL DÎM 🚥

After a promising pre-season, the Seconds finally kicked off their Division 1 season on Tuesday night – but the boys were beaten by a strong Ffostrasol Reserves side.

The first half was an even affair throughout, even if the boys went into the half-time break losing 2-1. Caden Briddon scored two excellent goals either side of a penalty which was won and converted by the returning Rhodri Jones, and the boys were frustrated not to scored one or two more themselves.

Ffostrasol's experience and relentlessness showed in the second half, scoring another four goals with a clinical touch to put the game to bed. Every credit to the hosts on what was a strong performance from start to finish, but the boys will be disappointed not to show more spirit and resilience.

Looking forward, there is a huge amount of potential in an extremely young side: the average age of Tuesday night's squad was just 18.3 years old, with all but two of the 16 graduating from our junior system.

DIOLCHIADAU 🤝

Diolch i Ffostrasol Wanderers AFC am y croeso, a phob lwc i nhw am y tymor i ddod.

Diolch enfawr to everyone that came down to support the boys at Parc Troedyrhiw. We hope to see you on Saturday's for the Firsts' home fixture against Rhayader Town in Llanrhystud.
