Snowdonia Seven

Snowdonia Seven The 7 Eryri / Snowdonia 7 is a mountain race in Eryri organised by NWP
22miles, 8000 feet of ascent. Testing teamwork, fitness and mountaincraft since 1974.

Starting in Llanberis, teams (dressed or carrying suitable kit for a full day on the mountain), have to visit Y Wyddfa, Crib y Ddysgl, Pen y Pass, Glyder Fawr, Glyder Fach, Y Garn, Foel Goch, and finally Elidir Fawr. Before descending down to Nant Peris and returning to finish Llanberis. Along the way they have to remain together at all times, meaning they can only travel at the pace of the slowes

t member, sometimes resulting in tears, tantrums and refusals to carry on! Unless each team member is disciplined it results in the fastest getting frustrated and the slowest getting totally exhausted and lagging behind. Add into this mix changeable weather and bad visibility causing you to get lost and you've got a fun event!

Ahead of this years race we recommend that everyone, first timers and seasoned veterans alike, make a little time to read the Race Rules.

We try and keep them up to date, reflecting feedback and challenges from previous years.

2 areas that have been clarified for this year are -

- Compass'.
You must have a proper physical compass. Phone or watch apps etc wont be accepted

- Torch
Likewise you need a separate torch that is suitable for night time navigation in an emergency. Phone torches etc wont be accepted. (Yes, yes we know its a daytime event but we have to base risk assessments on worst scenario - sorry! :-) )

4 Weeks today the annual pain and suffering that is the annual S7 Race will be underway!

Its that time when we as the organisers go into ground rush mode about the things we should have done but may have forgotten to do and we realise we have very little time left to do these things!!

Like always though we are confident that blind faith and sheer pigheadedness will see us through! 😂

Remember that entries close tomorrow night - 7th June - so if you haven't yet entered its now or never.

This years event is looming and we still have some places remaining. If you and / or you're team are dithering then its now or never to get your entries in for this year.

We will be closing the online entries on Sunday 7th June so we then have the final numbers for t shirts, trackers, catering etc etc

We wont be able to accept entries after that date.
