Brutal BMX

Another 1000 m in the bank before first work today. A couple of lengths felt good, nearly all length, which is promising 28m 30s. 10 weeks and 2 days until 5.25 mile swim for Level Water to help kids with disabilities access swimming. At £25 per child I would love to get 50 kids swimming. With my network on here and your continued generosity I think we can do it. 10.5 week until I attempt Coniston Chillswim. Swimming the 5.25 mile length of Lake Coniston. I've never swum further than 3.6 miles which was during my Brutal DNF last year. Im back in the gym and pool after 3 weeks out with illness. The aim is to raise money for Level Water. A charity that provides access to swimming lessons for kids with disabilities. Any help with sponsorship as I try and become a long distance open water swimmer over the next few weeks would be hugely appreciated.

The ace news is that Brutal Events has been resurrected and is all set to continue in 2025. The date clashes with Equinox24 which works out this year because I need longer than 6 months to do The Double. Next year the dates won't clash so my aim is to return with the BMX having given myself a fighting chance. I'm currently sorting out long standing knee and shoulder issues. I'm hitting the gym and swimming regularly for recovery, strength and fitness. I'm not gonna ride until I'm ready and I'm not gonna run until I'm ready. I won't be timed out on the swim again and I've Coniston Chillswim in June to focus my swimming. All being well I'll be fully recovered and much fitter by the end of summer with 12 good months to prep for The Double BMX return. Next step in improvement is better nutrition. Best get reading 👍

You know that thing where you're about to do something you cant get out of and you're so out of your depth it's comical? I would imagine it's like being pushed on stage to do a play you know nothing about and no idea of your lines. About to be briefed on the Double Brutal. Then it's food and try and sleep and get organised for the morning. We're off at 7am. I'll update everyone when I'm done, could be early doors, could be late on and you can decide if it's worthy of sponsorship.

For a brief moment I had an out. My entry hadn't been transferred from last year. Fortunately/unfortunately Matt Brown and his team at Timing Monkey sorted it for me. Looks like I'm going for a swim in the morning.
