HI- I have someone keen for mine leader Vertical Training, so require one more to run a course so be appreciated if you can spread the word.
Drop me a message if anyone is keen.
Also you can use a vertical training as an update ( if you also fufill log book regs for an update ) which could prove useful if your due one over next 6 months

🔵 I often get asked when coaching cavers / mine leaders, do resin anchors actually come loose ? A good question and the answer is yes at times.
🔵 So would you use this one ?? And how much play can a resin anchor have ? ? In this case its a DMM Eco anchor.
🔵 If the anchor was not shown to be pulling out and I had no option, yes I would use it, but it would need to be part of a safety system.
🔵 This anchor was in Alum Pot one the UK's most well known and well used caves and it was exposed to the elements.
🔵 It was replaced by the CNCC anchor team and the video supplied by the CNNC traning officer and anchor installer Ian Patrick
🔵 Did you know you can report defective anchors on the CNCC - Council of Northern Caving Clubs website and one of the anchor team will go and investigate. All voluntary and part of the service the CNCC - Council of Northern Caving Clubs provide to cavers.
🔵 Its also recommeded that you check all anchors on each trip as you never know

I did a trip to cyffty with glynn & Joel back when we had cal access . We did change some ropes , 1 of them was in the ladder way climb into cyffty from parc 3 this is in very dirty water which I suspect is rather maybe “toxic ?” It was certainly Very old I have read a fair amount of trip...

RED ROUTES IN CWMORTHIN

To help clear up some confusion and maybe some of you do not know

Note- Your not approved to use them under the LCMLA award. In order to be approved for RED route use in Cwm you have to be a leader for GB, signed off by GB and working for GB on any red route. Whilst working for others your not approved under the scheme to use Red routes in CWM.

News Update

8th October 2022 - NRW/WG have terminated the CAL licence

NRW have formally terminated the CAL agreement as of the 20th November 2022. Without the agreement there is no formal access to any of the CAL sites after this date.

CAL very much reget this has happened, the scheme has worked for almost 8 years without any issues and we think NRW are being very short-sighted. It is possible they may come up with a replacement scheme, however we have stated that this cannot involve any payment and it would have to be as easy to manage as the existing scheme

Cave access Limited is a company created to manage recreational access on behalf of Cavers and Mine Explorers to various mines and caves on land owned by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
