Knew we would struggle for numbers today but f**k me that was hard, about 2 players sober out the 13 that showed up, 90 mins in the legs for most n if our striker could hit the target and if our keeper had gloves on its a different result

Pre season friendly

Airdrie rovers 3 vs 3 Whitburn

Today saw the lads pre season friendlies kick off after a short break the lads seemed buzzing to get back out there against airdrie Albion

A slow start to the game then saw a long ball from Daz to new super signing joko who personally should of burried it but slipped it across for the black John McGinn kiean to slip it under the airdrie keeper 8 mins 1-0 Whitburn
Not much more to add to the first half lot of working Daz missing a few sitters but a boring end to the half 1-0 Whitburn ht

Second half the lads really struggled to get going then a long shot from airdrie saw Andy in goals parry it right to feet of there striker 1-1
Not sure really what happend for next to the boys were f**ked and blowing on a big pitch we then lost another 2 goals and found ourselves 3-1 down

78 mins roughly Tom with a big hoof found joko on the on the wing driving in and unselfishly again slotting it across for wee Meeks to throw himself into and it to cross the line 3-2

Super sub time with 10 mins to go the bald mourinho thought he would dust off the old boots himself and have a wee run about subbing himself on for Meeks saw him receive some amount of hate from the lads
No need to fear though 85 mins on the clock the boys pushing for the equaliser saw the ball end at wullies feet who lifted his head obviously thought f**k I need to roll it to the gaffer who his cool bald head took a touch and rolled it into the bottom corner goal of the season so far the crowd went wild the top came off people saying he should be in Scotland squad for World Cup the lot

The game finnished a draw which wasn’t ideal but that’s the point in pre season

The Gaffers

So last night saw Whitburn Sundays round off there 2025/2026 season with some party at there annual awards night

Before the run down of awards just take a moment to appreciate the work the lads put in this season Finish at the bottom end of the table last season to this year top 5 Finish and an unbeaten cup run an amazing achievement from a team with only 1/2 changes from last just goes to show you can only p**s with the c**k your given may not be the best but it gets the job done and and leaves some people satisfied

Last year saw only a handful of awards handed out so this year being a much better season saw a total of 7 awards to be handed out

First up most assists
With a total of 52 assist from the team spread across 15 players our top assist award goes to Daz who joined us about a third of the way through the season and slotted right into the midfield and made instant impact picking up 7 assists and a handful of goals well done Daz let's get it doubled for next year

Next up top goalscorer
The team scored 59 goals this season with 14 different scorers and as the winner said thank you Gordon for being injured half the season and due to this some how Big Ben takes the top goalscorer award by just hitting double figure with 10 goals this season god knows how but if he could header a ball would be 20+ well done Ben

Third award man of the season this award was originally going to be the most man of the match awards but due to a 4 way tie the gaffer decided to change it a bit and go to who just shows the right attitude puts in effort and just sets the tone on match days and training this award was picked up by our no nonsense no fancy s**t centre back Adam a player who always puts in time and effort the club and by far the best dressed member of the team last night

Now to the more fun awards first up the biggest f***y award this award is as it sounds which player has been the biggest f***y a few candidates new member of the team Matty was in the running with his football tennis antics Ben with his stupid kick off routine but the biggest f***y award goes to our very own Elvis (Louis) after nailing a player against parkhead winning the ball ref happy with the play going ahead Louis stops and apologise to a boy who's fine which is fair play if u don't win the ball Elvis you are a f***y but our f***y

5th award dirtiest bastard this award is pretty much most cards across the season 18 different players picked up cards this season few stand outs the gaffer being in the top 5 joint with old toot then Daz taking 3rd place with 5 would of gave winner a run for his money if been here all season 2nd goes to the first place's bodyguard and his personal hard man welsh Tom and the winner with 9 cards in total this man had it won by Christmas winner is Micheal Morrison jnr don't change Mickey Tom will protect you next season aswell

Now the big 2 awards first up coaches player of the year the this season the gaffer had a harder choice to pick from with so many players getting behind the bald mourinho style of play there is a 3,2,1 but won't waste anymore time the winner of the gaffers player of the year goes to the one and only wullie a man that puts everything into every game makes sure he is available at every opportunity and after the gaffer realised he was playing him wrong all last season changing it this year Wullie became one of the first players on the team sheet every week and even when on the bench Wullie puts in the effort and scores gets the rewards a fantastic season from one of the Whitburn OGs and as the boys agree one more season if you still have the legs would be good congratulations Wullie well deserved award and probs the best way to make Nicola happy

Last up the one that to most means the most to win the players player of the year award with 6 different players getting votes it was looking like could be a draw but then one player pulled away from the pack winning this award by 4 clear votes goes to livi reject and the bald mourinho sore head problem one of the most annoying but lovable guys the winner Mac a real asset to the team and found his best position playing left back picking up many man of the match's maybe coz his new misses came to watch but if that's the case keep bringing her next season and can't wait to see what you can do next season aswell

Another special mention goes to the 2 people behind the scenes toot and Sheila a massive thanks to toot who deals with all the background s**t friendlies booking all that s**t making the bald mourinho job so much easier and then the woman who makes the lads life amazing washing there stinking kits every week and then always something that someone forgets loosing out on a normal Sunday to wash 22 lads stinking kits love you Sheila thank you for everything you do for us

So a massive thank you to everyone who has been behind the lads this season sponsors and supporters everyone who came to watch and backed the bald mourinho and the lads so next year let's go and make Whitburn Sundays history and go for the league title next season thank you all and up the f**king burnie NBNP
