🏠Outside of work: I enjoy playing fives, taking part in parkruns and training for running events. I also really enjoy watching live sport especially . Family is a big part of my life, and I love spending time together on days out.

⭐ Favourite part of the role: Working with primary schools and seeing the difference that sport and physical activity can make to children and young people

😊Why I work in sport: My passion for working in sport has come from my own experiences and the impact sport has had on my life. Being a Games Maker at London 2012 gave me the opportunity to experience first-hand the excitement and positive atmosphere that sport can create. Most importantly, sport has played a big part in my own life, and I want to work in an industry where I can help others experience the same positive impact, opportunities and enjoyment that sport has given me.

πŸ™Œ What he's passionate about: I am passionate about giving young people the opportunity to get involved in sport, whether that is through playing, coaching or promoting it, developing their confidence, skills and passion for sport along the way.

🏊 Favourite activity: Football, Darts and Running

🌟 A proud achievement: I was a performer at the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony

πŸ…Programme I'm proud of: The biggest thing for me is seeing young people who have come through our leadership programmes now working within the sport and education industry, whether that’s with Active Schools or as a PE teacher. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the journey they have taken.

🎯 Looking forward to this year: To continue developing and supporting our Young Leaders as they take their first steps towards a career in the sports industry. Ultimately, I want to help them build the skills, experience and confidence they need to progress into a career in sport.

🏫 Assistant Active Schools & Community Sport Coordinator, ASN Cluster

Toni is one of the newest members of the Active Schools & Community Sport team, supporting young people across Pinewood, Cedarbank, Beatlie and Ogilvie.

Sport has always played a huge part in Toni's life, and she loves being able to help others discover the same enjoyment, confidence and sense of belonging that sport has given her.

⭐ Favourite part of the role Creating opportunities and experiences for young people and seeing their confidence grow through taking part in sport and physical activity.

πŸ™Œ What drives me Making sport and physical activity accessible for everyone. Toni is committed to helping break down barriers and ensuring every young person can find an activity where they feel welcome, included and able to thrive.

πŸŠπŸƒ Favourite activity Aquathlon (swimming and running)

🌍 Outside of work Sport doesn't stop when the working day ends! Whether she's coaching, training or representing Great Britain in competition around the world, you'll usually find Toni doing something sport-related.

✈️ Something you might not know about me I've flown a plane over the Forth Bridges!

🌟 A proud achievement Toni was selected to support Triathlon Scotland's Women and Girls Programme, helping plan and deliver an event designed to create a positive and welcoming environment for female participants. Being involved in a programme focused on reducing barriers and encouraging more women and girls into sport was a real highlight.

🎯 Looking forward to this year Meeting and working with young people, schools and partners across West Lothian to create positive experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

πŸ’¬ Words to live by "Comparison is the thief of joy. Be yourself and have as much fun as you can along the way."

🏫 Supporting: Care Experienced Young People & a focus on mental health within the James Young Cluster

πŸ… Favourite part of the role: Working with a brilliant team to inspire more people to get involved in sport & physical activity

πŸ’ͺ🏼 Passionate about: I'm really passionate about grassroots sport and how we use sport as a tool for wider outcomes. I really do believe that sport can change lives for the better, so I'm always trying to get that message out there as best I can.

πŸ„β€β™€οΈ Outside of work: More sport! I enjoy playing and coaching in my spare time. I'm also a big film enthusiast.

🌍 Fun fact: Despite being a very patriotic Scotsman, I was actually born on the Isle of Man.

⭐ Proud moment: Last year, I supported a school Intensive Support Provision as they represented Scotland at Lords Cricket Ground in London for a UK Disability Cricket Festival. It was the first time that a Scottish school had travelled down south for the event and it was a real honour to support the team, many of whom had never been on a plane before!

πŸš€ Looking ahead: Meeting new people and doing new things. Being one of the newest members of the team (and not being from West Lothian), it's exciting to be exploring a different area and meeting great people along the way.
