APPOINTMENT - MICHAEL JOHNSTON ⚽️

We are proud to appoint Michael as Apollo Academy’s Lead Coach.

A UEFA A Licence coach, Michael is the current manager of Halewood Apollo and former manager of Welsh giants Bangor City.

Having won the Welsh Premier League and gained experience in the UEFA Champions League, Michael will deliver sessions across the programme and add another high-level coach to the Apollo Academy team. 🌟

APPOINTMENT - ROBBIE JOHNSON ⚽️🤝

We are proud to appoint Robbie as Apollo Academy’s Coaching Development Advisor.

During his time working within Liverpool and Everton, Robbie helped guide players including Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney through their teenage years and into professional football.

Robbie will now lead on coaching delivery across Apollo Academy, supporting our coaches and team managers while establishing clear standards and a consistent Apollo way of coaching.

We are pleased to confirm Sean Newton as Apollo Academy’s Head of Junior Coaching & Player Development.

A former captain of Wrexham, York City and Lincoln City, Sean brings significant experience and leadership to the Academy.

His immediate focus will be raising standards across our junior coaching programme and ensuring our existing players receive the strongest possible coaching.
