Palmerston Tennis Club

Palmerston Tennis Club We are a friendly tennis club situated in South Liverpool, just off Allerton road and Queens Drive. Current Men's Liverpool league champions.

The club is open to both Tennis players and social members. We have 6 artificial grass tennis courts and equipment to provide short tennis for junior players. Our clubhouse has a function room, bar, lounge and male/female changing facilities. Last year we became the first members tennis club in Liverpool to achieve Clubmark. Achieving Tennis Clubmark means the LTA endorses and supports a club’s te

nnis programme, policies and procedures, action and development planning, and club management. We have 6 men’s and 2 ladies tennis teams which compete in the Liverpool & District tennis league. Our Ladies A are the current section A champions, while our Men’s A were runners up in their respective league. Our mixed team are the current holders of the Fairlawn and Brockbank trophies. Palmerston hosts various tournaments throughout the season, from American tournaments to Club championships for juniors, seniors and Veterans. In September we host our traditional Men’s and Mixed Open doubles tournaments. Our club coach is David Simms and he offers both junior and senior coaching, either one on one or in a squad. Coaches demoing drills = not always as easy as it looks! 🎾😅 But what a brilliant way to keep us on our toes, thinking about technique, control and those little details that make all the difference in match play.

A glorious evening for tennis at our Monday coaching sessions today with Coaches Ricky and Josh ☀️🎾 — although we’re definitely starting to feel the days drawing in with that earlier sunset.

Time to get the temporary lights back out for those later sessions! 💡🎾

Honestly… what more could we ask for? 🥰

That’s exactly what our Racquets for Rehab sessions — and all of our sessions, at every level — at Palmerston are all about:

🎾 Showing up
💪 Moving
🙌 Socialising
😄 Having fun
✨ Celebrating the little wins

And we’ll take plenty more of that! 🫶🎾

Racquets for Rehab is a joint neuro physio & tennis coach led session aimed at improving movement control, balance and posture, integrating that with tennis skills and play. Pre-participation assessment/discussion required.

We also have a Walking Tennis session starting next week for those who just want to play tennis at their own pace, two bounces allowed, no running or jumping, just having fun on court! Do get in touch/share with anyone you feel may be interested!

Brockbank Trophy 2026 winners! 🏆🙌🎾

A fantastic day today in the sunshine for our Palmerston v Eccleston Park, Brockbank final showdown, with our fantastic team coming away with a 4-1 win, retaining the title for us!

And despite the clubhouse closure for our essential rewiring work, there was a great turnout of support for our teams! 🙌

A cute little casual get-together went down at the club earlier today, celebrating one of our fabulous young ladies, , who has been part of the club since she was a junior, getting into her uni of choice and leaving Liverpool soon! 🎓🥹

So lovely that some of our ladies’ group, headed by Andrea, organised a mini farewell hit on court for her, followed by cake before she goes! 🎾🍰
