Shihan King brings a wealth of real-world knowledge and a passion for adaptive, practical Ju-Jitsu, developed through her extensive background across multiple combat styles. She is supported by a strong Yudansha who each bring decades of cross-training experience in arts such as Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, and Boxing Their skills have been rigorously pressure-tested in both competitive and real-world environments, contributing to an effective, combative, and ever-evolving style of Ju-Jitsu. At Muga Mushin Ryu, we offer more than just martial arts training. We believe in nurturing the whole person. Our instructors are on hand daily, providing personalised support, so whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned practitioner why not come along and try a session. As we enter 2026, we mark another year on the path of study, discipline, and continued refinement of our art.

Muga Mushin Ryu Jujitsu is built on traditional foundations, practical application, and the understanding that progress comes through consistency, humility, and time on the mat. Every class, every repetition, and every challenge faced is part of that ongoing journey.

Adult Summer Kyu Gradings will take place on Saturday, June 29th, from 10:00 to 12:00.

All assessments will include live elemements alongside demonstration of technical ability.

To make sure you're fully prepared, please ensure the following:

You’ve met all required grading criteria

Your BCA licence is valid and current

Your Gi is clean and presentable

You have a gumshield and MMA gloves for the live elements

Summer Junior Kyu Gradings

Our Summer Junior Kyu Gradings will take place on June 29th from 12:00 to 14:00 Students eligible to grade will receive their grading letters ahead of the examination day.

All assessments will include live elements such as randori and grappling, in addition to technical ability.

To ensure you’re fully prepared, please check the following:
you have met all the required grading criteria.
Your  BCA licence is valid and up to date.
Your Gi is clean and smart.
You have a gumshield for the  live element of the grading.

If you’re unsure about any of the requirements, please speak to one of our instructors as soon as possible.

Sad News from the Ju Jitsu world this evening.

All at Muga Mushin Ryu Ju Jitsu are saddened to hear of the passing of Beryl Maio, long time administrator and secretary to the World Ju Jitsu Federation and Soke Robert Clark 9th Dan.

Beryl was well known in British Ju Jitsu, often referred to as the ‘first lady’ of Jujitsu.

Beryl was a warm and friendly person who always greeted people with a smile, she was often a sense of calmness, particularly on grading days!

Our instructors who hold the World Ju Jitsu Federation lineage talk of Beryl fondly and it’s a great shame she has passed. We pass our sincere condolences on to her friends and family in this difficult time.

Thankyou to everyone who came along to support our dojo and myself, i am beyond words at the opportunity to share my story with Alice, & BBC NWT,

These past couple of months have been unbelievable for our dojo we have had interviews & coverage from and now BBC north west tonight.

I never envisioned my story/ journey would touch the lives of so many but if i can inspire just one person and prove to them that they cam change their stars and triumph over adversity then maybe i have found my purpose.
