Sefton Women complete their 40 Over League season with champions-elect Edgworth the visitors to Croxteth Drive from 1pm.

Alex Woods' side are still looking for one more win to stave off relegation fears - they welcome midtable Fleetwood Hesketh to the lower ground. 1pm start; "last hour" 5.45pm.

Ronan Brady's team are away at Rainhill - plus plenty of junior cricket in the morning too!

Sefton Win at New Brighton

Early wickets from Jimmy Dixon (3-33) and Huzaifa Zubair (2-35) reduced New Brighton to 25-4; Louis Botes hit a quick 34 for the hosts but Daksh Singhvi took 3-35 and then Tom Spilsbury 2-3 in 11 balls to s***f out the tail and dismiss New Brighton for 119 from 38.5 overs. Sefton's chase didn't start well - the score read 30-4 when Huzaifa (30) joined Paul Horton at the crease. They added 65 for the fifth wicket but there was still time for late drama as Sefton wobbled; Paul ultimately hitting the winning runs to finish on 48* as Sefton won by two wickets.

A day to forget for Sefton 2XI as they were bowled put for 43 at Croxteth Drive and lost to Leigh by 8 wickets.

Jack Sawbridge (41), Tom Wilkinson (47) and Scott Hawkes (38*) were the main contributors in Sefton 3XI's score of 165-7d from 42 overs against Formby. Ronan Brady took 3-14, Lewis Probert 2-11 and Jonathan Dopson 2-11 as Formby were bowled out for 72.

Skipper Tim Yates (47*) and Chris Mitchell (40*) rescued Sefton 4XI's innings, enabling them to declare at 138-6 from 52 overs on the lower ground. The game ended in a draw with Maghull's innings closing on 102-7 from 32 overs; Mitchell taking 3-24, Paul Barlow 2-0 and Caitlin Summers 2-26. Neither of the other two sides battling for promotion managed to win either so Sefton remain in second place.

Today at Sefton

With just three weeks of the season to go, Sefton cross the river to face New Brighton eyeing a win which would see them leapfrog their opponents. Connor Melia's hat-trick sealed victory when the sides met at Sefton earlier in the season. Noon start at Rake Lane with the "last hour" from 5.45pm.

At Croxteth Drive, top of the table Leigh are the visitors with Sefton 2XI still not mathematically safe from relegation. 12.45pm start; "last hour" called at 5.30pm.

A big game in a four-way promotion battle on the lower ground as second-placed Sefton 4XI host third-placed Maghull whilst Sefton 3XI will be looking to secure a fourth place finish on the road away at Formby.

This Weekend at Sefton

Sefton travel to Rake Lane to face New Brighton looking for a win which would see them leapfrog their opponents and back into the top half.

Sefton 2XI host league leaders Leigh at Croxteth Drive whilst second-placed Sefton 4XI have a crunch clash on the lower ground against third-placed Maghull. Sefton 3XI are away at Formby.

August's 100 Club Draw Winners

1st Prize - £100 - 91 - Rachel Farmer
2nd Prize - £75 - 93 - Rob Parkinson
3rd Prize - £50 - 71 - John Lightfoot

Great to have three first-time winners for the second time this summer!

We then moved on to the snowball draw with another £100 added to the prize to take it to a record-extending £1,200. Number 55 - Anne Birrell - was drawn out as the snowball, though Anne was already on the list of potential winners having been the snowball in January. The list of numbers with a chance of winning therefore unchanged: 39, 25, 16, 74, 55, 12, 89, 73, 80, 88, 85.

The jackpot number was number 68 - and so the prize rolls over again when it should be £1,300 (ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED POUNDS) next month.
