One student said they’d “remember the day for the rest of their life.”
Students from Alt Bridge School stepped onto a live construction site at the Kirkby Centre to experience joinery, plastering and electrical work alongside industry professionals.
For some, it was their first chance to see what a career in construction could look like. For others, it might have changed their future!
The project, led by Sterling Services (Northern) Ltd and commissioned by Knowsley Council, is transforming the ground floor of the Kirkby Centre into Alt Bridge School’s new post-16 provision. And alongside the building work, it’s creating something even more important... opportunity.
At grow CIC, we believe social value should be practical, measurable and leave a lasting impact. Giving young people real experiences, building confidence and opening doors they may never have considered is what it’s all about.
Huge credit to Sterling Services and their supply chain partners for making it happen. Hopefully it’s the first of many experiences that inspire the next generation.
