Just really wanted to express my overwhelming gratitude to Sarah Kinsella Ask Physio who is treating me with shockwave therapy. This Time next week I will be in Hawaii ahead of the Ironman world championships. It has been my dream to compete at this event since I started the sport of triathlon 16 or 17 years ago, and became a reality when I qualified last year. Training for Ironman is always a challenge, but I’d been managing a sore foot for a long time before it became unbearable just weeks before the event. I’d rested, followed a planter fasciitis rehab program, had sports massage, I even paid to see a consultant in the hope to have a steroid injection. However I just experienced more pain, the worst I had in any sports injury. I wasn’t sure it would allow me to even attempt a run walk over the marathon. The video shows treatment 3 of 4. Sarah explained SW is not really a quick fix, and can be painful, that it works best if you are strong, and gave me no guarantee it would work in the time scale, but was willing to give it a go if I was. It is working! We are seeing improvements, I have been able to try a couple of rehab jog/ walks, something I couldn’t of imagine a week ago. I am so grateful for the treatment, but what has really struck me is Sarah’s empathy. She understands how important this event is to me, and I sense it is incredibly important to her to help get me to the start line. I have actually been having a break from social media, but felt so strongly that I not only wanted to thank her, but also make others aware, if they are suffering.
