~Background~

Over 40 years experience coaching golfers of all ages and abilities. After starting my career at Surbiton Golf Club in 1973, I then undertook the Head Assistant role at Thames Ditton & Esher, gaining my PGA professional status in 1977. From 1983 I spent over 17 years as the Manager and Professional at Farnham Park Golf Club before taking up the appointment of Head Professional at Fou

r Marks, near Alton. From August 2007, I have been the Head /Teaching Professional at Old Thorns Golf & Country Club, Liphook. In my present role I continue to specialise in coaching, which has gained me a strong client base and a solid reputation throughout Hampshire.

~Coaching Style~

Everyone is unique and the same is true of your golf swing. I prefer to observe and explain what I see is happening in each person’s set-up and golf swing. Then, after listening to what your expectations are, I will work with you to achieve your goals.

Happy Easter

As we enter what should be a very exciting Masters weekend, may I wish you and your family a very Happy Easter!

Spring is finally showing its hand and the golfing season is well and truly underway - although for some, no doubt, it kept going right throughout the winter!

So whether you are just dusting off your clubs preparing for another season, or simply shedding some layers of clothing after winter golf, I wish you all the very best out on the golf course. Enjoy the short grass!

How Good is Your Muscle Memory?

At last…! From Monday 29th March we can go for a walk and take our golf clubs with us.

Spring will be upon us, the clocks will have gone forward, and we will have a full, exciting, and hopefully uninterrupted golfing year to look forward to.

As we are once again asked to return to our armchairs and so can only 'dream' our way around the golf courses we love to play, may I wish you all a peaceful, healthy and productive time at home.

Enjoy your time outside taking exercise and do maintain all of the physical and mental drills that will have you 'ready to go' when golf resumes. At least we are going to be spared the worst of the muddy conditions!!

When we return, Spring truly will be just around the corner and I am so excited and looking forward to the opportunity to develop your golf game with you throughout 2021.

Okay, so I am now off to go and sit in my armchair and shoot a new course record around the magnificent Royal Birkdale Golf Course!

I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and a healthy, peaceful and prosperous New Year.

It has given me so much pleasure to spend time with you all throughout the past year and I very much look forward to doing so again in 2021.

We can never know what the year ahead holds in store for us but I wish you all good health and lots of happiness both on and off the golf course!

As 2nd December draws ever nearer and we all anticipate a very welcome return to the fairways, driving ranges and practice grounds, I would like to make you aware that I will be available from 3rd December to offer my help on all aspects of your game of golf.

Great news! Brows Farm Driving Range has reopened and I will be offering my coaching again from Monday 18th May.

My coaching will be carried out on a one-to-one basis only (no 'Tuesday Roll Up' at the moment) and will be conducted either outside or in the new 'Swing Room', located at the very far end of the extension to the driving range. Please note that the Swing Room will be fully open at the front and not enclosed. With there currently being no Tuesday Roll Up, for those of you who would just like a 10-minute swing check, you can still do this by making a one-to-one appointment for just £10.

Social distancing will of course be maintained and strict hygiene measures will be observed. There is a one-way system in operation at the range, so please use the guidance on arrival and meet me in the Swing Room: follow the one-way system in and turn to the right (not in the workshop as before, which is down on the left-hand side).

Spring is here.....But!

I was hoping that this update was to be informing you of my intended return to coaching! However, with the escalation of measures now in place to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus, Golf Clubs, Courses and Driving Ranges are all closed for a minimum of three weeks.

We're all facing this together and for however long it takes please keep up your exercise routines and get out into the fresh air as much as it is safe to do, even if it's just in your garden! This early spring sunshine is providing an abundance of vitamin D.

Just as soon as Brows Farm Driving Range is allowed to re-open I will make you aware and if you are happy to come along then we can pick up from where we left off. When we do return I will have in place Health and Safety measures, including 'safe distancing', for every coaching session and will inform you of these nearer the time.

In the meantime may I wish you and your families good health.

Well... didn't see this coming!

After an unbelievably and unrelentingly wet winter, we now have this invisible threat causing so much disruption and distress on so many different levels.

I have today begun my own self-isolation after waking to a tight chest and light cough! Brows Farm Driving Range remains open and with plenty of fresh air and spacious practice bays, it is the ideal location to get your daily exercise - and hone your golfing skills of course!

It has been my pleasure to work with you all throughout the winter months and with spring now knocking on the door, I am very excited about the coming season. I will of course make you aware once I am available for coaching again and in the meantime I wish you all good health.

These are indeed very strange times for us all but recreation in the great outdoors remains good for the soul.
