Always a pleasure to welcome the Belfast Eagles Senior Rugby League guys down to Lisburn Rugby Club.

A highly entertaining game that was quite the spectacle for the many spectators in attendance 👀

A couple of shout outs - well done to our 3 debutants who all registered on the 0-0 score sheet, and a massive thankyou to referee Rachel who dealt with 30 miserable old men spectacularly. Rugby League Ireland Masters was the winner today!

Today we mourn the loss of a true sporting icon, Sir Billy Boston, who has passed away surrounded by his family.

Rugby League’s first knight, a Wigan legend, and "Everybody's Hero," his legacy on and off the field will endure for eternity.

Rest in peace, Sir Billy. 🍒⚪️

This comes as absolutely no surprise whatsoever, our Rugby League Ireland Masters Captain Vs Wales Masters Rugby League Association is none other than our own Andrew J Hassard 💪🐎🏉

Not only is he a man mountain with a phenomenal work rate, but he is one of the nicest guys you're ever likely to meet.

Fun fact about Andy - despite being bald he is actually Ulster's hairiest man! We'll let your imaginations take over from here folks...... 🫈

To the untrained eye this might look like 3 middle aged blokes who think they can still play a bit, but the actual story is slightly different.

23 years ago these fine men played for Telford Raiders RLFC in their inaugural Midlands Rugby League season. Last week they reunited at Rugby League Ireland Masters Eurofest - Different country, different club, possibly a couple of kilos heavier, but still playing the game they love.

This is what Masters is all about - great mates. Great craic. Best sport in the world.
