Gary Cowan won the Parkinson’s Singles Div 1 consolation event beating Paul Phillips. Valerie Williamson had a tremendous Div 2 tournament (and was our only female!) winning 2 matches with a narrow defeat in a third losing in 5 sets.

Pat Mulholland takes the Div 2 Parkinson’s Singles title, with Roy Boreland runner-up in a tightly contested competition. Both players had won 3 games in their group and the winner was decided by the match between both players.

Martin Heffernan (Cashel, Tipperary) takes Parkinson’s Singles Div 1 title at the Ulster Open yesterday, despite a 3-1 loss to Ric Brown in the group stage. Patrick Crossan topped his group beating Mark Johnson, Brian Bloomfield and Ben Jones, while Ric defeated Gary Cowan, Martin Heffernan and Paul Phillips. In the semi finals Martin beat Patrick and Mark beat Ric. In a tight final, local Legacurry man Mark lost to Martin (-9 6 12 -9 5).
