I’m honestly lost for words this evening as I reflect on the Glenpatrick event which was hosted today by our very good friends, Britt and Anne Megahey.
There are just not enough superlatives in the English dictionary to summarise how sublime and exquisite it was and ‘absolute perfection’ doesn’t do the venue justice because there wasn’t even a blade of grass out of place.
We are SO privileged to have Glenpatrick in our NR calendar with the incredible range of fences including treasure chests, stone built cottages and plump, carved ducks greeting you along the terrain.
Noel Fitzpatrick, under the mentorship of Adam Stevenson, built four superb courses which both educated and questioned combinations across all classes. As always, Britt and Anne, together with Sean Lavery and the Glenpatrick Team left no stone unturned in their efforts to make the event as close to rivalling many prestigious International competitions as was indiscernible. The fences were very professionally decorated with a huge degree of colour and creativity which was a major talking point throughout the day. Even the beautiful roping made it stand out as an extraordinary event on the National calendar.
As ever, we are deeply indebted to our family of volunteers who never let us down and are always willing to lend a hand, even when they have no requirement to do so.
They were rewarded today with some amazing volunteer prizes which were donated by Equisuds, Irish Equine Rehabilitation Centre, Philip Swann , Thompson- Logan Family and Carole Young. A video of the draw is attached.
Another significant moment today was when Denis Currie, NR Representation on Eventing Ireland Board presented fellow Amateur, Britt Megahey, with a trophy to recognise his supremacy in the All Ireland EI110 Amateur League last year.
Well done Britt 👏👏
