Hilden Tennis Club had a strong showing at the South East of Ireland Masters Tour 1000 at St Anne's Tennis Club, Waterford 🎾. Carrie and Ian took home the mixed doubles 50/55 title🏆, while Trudy made it to the WS50 semi-finals🥉 and Ailbhe and Colin reached the semi-finals in the mixed doubles 40/45 category🥉. Great tennis, despite the challenging weather and fantastic hospitality from the St Anne's tennis club volunteers. A very well run tournament 👏

A busy week at HTC 🎾. Ian, Derek, Kerry and Carrie battled the endless rain of January to end up as runners up in Division 2 of the BnD Floodlit league 🥈
In preparation for the singles league, head coach Gordy held 2 x 1 hour sessions for our competitive members with a focus on tactics. These sessions will occur monthly and have been well received 👏

HTC members have achieved significant success in the Masters Tour recently.
Carrie🥈, Colin🥈 and Scott🥈excelled at the ITF MT400 tournament, reaching finals in their respective age groups. Meanwhile, Ian Marsh made it to the O55 doubles final at the Nenagh LTC Masters 1000🥈.
It has been great to see so many of our members participate in external tournaments, with a number heading to Waterford and Cavan over the next few weeks 🎾. Good luck to them all 🤞

Last night witnessed a cross club night out to the Belfast Empire Music Hall 💿 🎸 Hilden joined up with Forge, David Lloyd, CIYMS, Downshire and Bangor tennis members to rock it out to the Bon Jovi experience. A great time was had by all 🤘

Hilden and Forge Tennis clubs have collaborated on a 4 week tennis coaching programme with Sam Clegg at Lisburn Racquets Club. It has been a good opportunity to learn new skills and to make new friends. We hope to continue planning events with Forge in the future.

This weekend, HTC had prizewinners at the 2025 Fermanagh Masters Tour in Irvinestown.
Storm Amy tried but failed to spoil the party. Thank you to John Maguire and his team for all their efforts as it became a scheduling nightmare. Their hospitality and welcoming atmosphere made this tournament a pleasure to attend.
