No Irish 4 Nations this year, so here's a throwback to a 6 years ago - you might see some familiar faces!

Hopefully not too long before we can get back to a Badminton court!

Great idea for any athletes wanting to get more active while we aren't able to meet and train for badminton.

“Let’s Run” is all about encouraging people to take up running, to whatever level suits them. There are 4 programmes available catering for all ability levels, as follows:

· Level 1 is an introductory level, for those who do not currently run. It involves short runs and walk.

· Level 2 is a slight progression on level one, with the runs and walks getting a little longer (6 minute runs, 5/6 minute walks).

· Level 3 is for those with a reasonable level of fitness, involving running for 10 minutes, walking for 5, and repeating this.

· Level 4 is for those with a high level of fitness, with 10 and 15 minute runs, separated with a 3 minute recovery time.

It is important to note that if you cannot run for the full time required, then you can combine running and walking, the important thing is to complete the session.

The training programme can be done at home, in a park, on local roads, around your lawn, on a treadmill…really anywhere that is safe to run, and within whatever COVID-19 restrictions are in place at the time.

Following a very simple registration process, you will receive a downloadable pack containing a training programme, and a “checklist” to place in a prominent place (e.g. the fridge door!). You will also receive a podcast which you can listen to, to guide you through each training session.

Great news today from Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 where Sarah-Louise Rea picked up her gold medal for ladies singles. She won all 4 of her games in her Division on her way to finishing top of the group.

Fantastic result and a great end to the 4-year cycle for Sarah-Louise and Lisburn 2gether!

We’ll miss the regular TV interviews and anxiously following updates, but looking forward to welcoming her home soon.
