Linwood RYC Girls football team The Linwood RYC Girls team was created in 2023 and we have a 12s and 14s team who compete in 7 aside and 9 aside leagues.

All home games and training are carried out at Mossedge Village,Linwood, PA3 3RU. LRYC was originally created in 1971 by Alex Stephen

Good Afternoon Guys,

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer holidays! After a successful 1st half of the season completed for both U12s and U14s girls teams and with pre season started last week - we are now in a position to start recruiting to bolster the squad numbers. Please feel free to share the below flyer with other pages/ friends and family. We will be posting it as well and putting them up locally

Hope everyone had an excellent Christmas and New Year! Our training is due to restart tomorrow and hope all the the players are well rested! We have started planning friendlies for the next few months prior to the U12s 7s and U14s 9s teams have grading games.

As always we are looking to recruit to bolster the squad too ensure we are equipped across both squads for the seasons ahead. Please feel free to share this post with anyone who may be interested 💙

We had a player sign with a professional team over Christmas 2024 from LRYC girls and we are hoping to create more opportunities for girls to get to the next level 👍 We are looking for any girls born 2012-2015, all abilities considered and we are located in Linwood

Following the grading games throughout January, February and March the U14s and U12s teams have been excellent and are really starting to play well as a team.

The U12s have been drawn in tier 1
and U14s have been drawn in tier 3 in their region/age group.

We expect it will be quite a jump up in competition for U12s but we believe the girls are more than capable 💪

The U14s have been very competitive in all their grading games and we expect the team will do really well if they continue with their hard work and excellent attitude towards training 👏

It's been whirlwind start to the preseason for both the 12s and 14s girls teams. Both teams played 3 friendlies each over the course of one month in preparation for the first set of grading games. Each team have a really good account of themselves against some difficult teams. We have some new additions to the squads who have all settled in well and the teams are beginning to play some excellent football 👌

The 12s have played 1 grading game to date which was a competitive affair at home against Park Villa. Unfortunately the 2nd grading game for the 12s and the 14s first grading game were both called off last weekend due to the bad weather. We have 2 more grading games scheduled for both teams being played over the next 2 weekends prior to the league admin determing which tier each team will play in.

We are all excited for season ahead and can't wait to see what the girls can achieve as a team. We will need to get additional strips for the new squad and will hopefully be able to get a sponsor to please feel free to share post and ask any businesses 👍

Hope everyone had an excellent festive period and New Year celebrations! It's been all "go" following the girls returning to training in the 7th January. We now have a 12s 7aside team and 14s 9aside team. Both played their 1st friendlies of the season last weekend with a game against OLM 12s and Thorn 14s. Both games were competitive and we have plenty of things to work on in training over the next few week's prior to the season starting. This weekend we have a friendly against 14s Giffnock Girls and the 12s have a break, hope to see everyone on Sunday

Tonight is the last training session for the girls before we break for Christmas. It been an excellent season for the girls and hard to believe that some girls only started playing football in the summer of 2023. We feel as a team, we have came long way over a short period time and looking forward to next season. We hope everyone has an excellent Christmas and New Year!
The 1st training session after Christmas will be on Tuesday 7th January 6:30 at Mossedge.

We have finished the season with some excellent performances against Houston United, St Convals and OLM girls over the past 3 weekends. The girls have had a fantastic season and really worked well as a team

Today we have the presentation for the girls and will great to see everyone to celebrate the girls achievements over the last year. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Following the October break - we arranged for a friendly against Giffnock Girls 9s team to challenge the team, prepare them for next season and give the girls game time as there had been a few teams in 7s development league who had folded. The girls had a competitive game on 27th October and really gave a good account for themselves considering the challenge.

We also returned to development league games on Sunday 03/11 at home to Cadocs 7s where we played some of our best football as a team this season.

The coaches are very proud of the team and we have 3 tough league games over the next 3 weeks before the girls end of season presentation on 30/11 at Mossedge
