🏋🏼‍♀️The Best Pre-Workout Fuel Doesn’t Need to Be Complicated 🏋🏼‍♀️

If you’re training first thing in the morning or rushing to a class after work, you don’t need a huge meal beforehand. In fact, something light and easy to digest often works best. Aim to eat them 30-60 minutes prior to your workout 💪🏻

These are our favourite pre-workout options:

🍌 Banana
🍯 Rice cakes with peanut butter & honey
🌴 Medjool dates
🥜 Banana with peanut butter
🍞 Toast with honey or jam
🥤 Small fruit smoothie

These quick-digesting carbohydrates give your body the energy it needs to train without leaving you feeling heavy or uncomfortable.

Then, once you’ve finished your workout, that’s the perfect time to refuel properly with:

🥚 Eggs on toast
🥣 Greek yoghurt, fruit & granola
🍗 Chicken, rice & vegetables
🥔 A balanced meal containing protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats

Join Sam on the first Wednesday of every month at 12pm for our Upper Body Strength & Pilates class.

This class combines the benefits of strength training with core Pilates principles to help you develop:

Using slow, controlled movements, we’ll focus on building strength through the shoulders, back, arms and core while improving mobility and stability throughout the body.

Homemade Nutritious Flapjacks

The perfect snack to fuel your workouts.These homemade flapjacks are packed with slow-release oats, healthy fats and natural sweetness, making them the ideal pre or post workout snack.

Because good nutrition doesn’t have to be boring, it should fuel your body and taste amazing 😍

Ingredients

85g butter

140g Jumbo Oats

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp demerara sugar

85g dried apricot

100g Honey or maple syrup

50g dark chocolate

Method:

Heat oven to 160C (fan). Gently heat the syrup, butter and sugar until the butter melts, then stir in the vanilla, oats, apricots until combined.

Press the mixture into a 18cm tin and bake for 25-30 minutes, leave to cool completely before removing. Melt the dark chocolate and drizzle over the top.

Results come from combining the right training with the right nutrition. Fuel your body properly and you’ll feel the difference in your energy, mood and performance.
