**IMPORTANT NOTICE**

Tomorrow (21st March) is our FINAL Saturday training session.

We would like to welcome all members, friends and supporters, past and present to come to the club for one last hurrah!

Kids from 9:15am
Adults from 10:15am

There may even be a small celebration at the pub thereafter if there is enough interest.

Tuesday will be our final session but we appreciate that Saturday is likely to be more suitable for most people for a farewell.

After a decade of running and delivering the club (Sancroft Blades) and MUCH longer for Wallace Academy, we want to thank everyone again for their support over the years and we appreciate this chance to say thank you and goodbye.

**Important Notice**

Please read the below information. Please note, all sessions will continue to run as normal up to and including 24th March 2026.

For many years, Sancroft Blades and Wallace Fencing Academy have been proud parts of Scotland’s modern fencing community — nurturing fencers of all ages, running competitions, and supporting coaching, refereeing and armoury development across the country.

In August 2023, the two clubs formally merged, consolidating activity at Linlithgow Academy with the aim of strengthening coaching resources, expanding training opportunities, and preserving much-loved events such as the 48ers. Together, we continued to support beginners through to performance athletes across foil, épée and sabre, while contributing extensively to Scottish events as competitors, referees and volunteers.

It is with great sadness that we announce the merged club will close at Easter 2026 due to an ongoing and ultimately insurmountable shortage of qualified coaches. Despite everyone’s efforts, reduced coach availability — with several moving on to university, careers and relocation — has made it impossible to maintain the level of provision and suitable training environment our members deserve.

Over the years, our members have progressed from grassroots to Home Nations and GB representation across all three weapons. The impact of this community — coaches, volunteers, parents and athletes — has shaped hundreds of fencing journeys and left a lasting mark on Scottish fencing.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported the club(s) past and present.

For those seeking continued fencing opportunities, please connect with Scottish Fencing’s club directory and local clubs across the region available at https://www.scottish-fencing.com/clubs We would like to encourage all members to continue their journey in this great sport at other local clubs.

We will send an email out to all members confirming next steps. Direct debits for memberships will be closed off at the appropriate time at our end.

If you have any questions, please message or email us directly.
