*** POINTS COMPETITION RESULTS ***
Monday night saw 12 members compete for this season's Points Trophy - an individual event where players test their skills across a range of prescribed disciplines.

We got through 7 disciplines - Striking, Inwicking, Drawing, Guarding, Chap & Lie, Wick & Curl In, and Raising - and it's fair to say that tricky ice (particularly on Sheet 6) contributed to some fairly mediocre scoring!

Allan Manuel (29 pts) came away with the spoils, winning by a single point from Brian Kerr (28 pts). Bryan Woolsey made up the medal rostrum, securing third place with 26 pts. The wooden spoon went to Alan Birse with 6 pts - thanks for turning up Alan! 😉

Monday night's "shoot out" saw Allan Manuel ease to a comfortable victory over David Lunt to secure this season's Bicentenary League title. Congratulations to Allan and his team of Alan Birse, Jane Anderson, and Sheona Erskine.

Comfortable wins for Alan Faulds and Bryan Woolsey see them jump ahead of David Lunt into second and third places respectively. After leading for so long, David unfortunately drops to fourth.

RESULTS
Allan Manuel 11 David Lunt 3
David Hewitt 3 Alan Faulds 10
Bryan Woolsey 12 Harry Brodie 3

That's it as far as league action is concerned for this season, but we still have the Points and the President's Prize to play for over the next couple of weeks.

Next up on Wed 12 Feb, it's the final round of Bennie fixtures, with Stuart Milne vs James Skuse, Steve McKenzie vs Chris Collen, and Lyall Cormack vs Les Ferris. The winner of the first match will take the title, although a peeled game will be enough for Stuart.

This week saw two fixtures in the Bicentenary League, with comfortable wins (on paper at least) for David Lunt and Brian Kerr over Harry Brodie and David Hewitt respectively.

David Lunt 11 Harry Brodie 5
Brian Kerr 9 David Hewitt 5

David Lunt has now opened up some daylight at the top of the table, while Brian Kerr jumps above Bryan Woolsey into 4th place.

Next up, it's the final of the Teind Barn knockout, where Brian Kerr will battle it out out against Alan Faulds. Just like the Kansas City Chiefs, Brian is going for three in a row, but can Alan spoil the party?

WED 22 JAN
The penultimate round of fixtures in the Bennie League saw victories for Stuart Milne, James Skuse, and Chris Collen over Alan Birse, Steve McKenzie and Les Ferris respectively. Interestingly, all 3 winning skips were absent on the night!

Stuart Milne 10 Alan Birse 5
Steve McKenzie 4 James Skuse 6
Les Ferris 4 Chris Collen 8

With one round to go, Stuart Milne sits top of the pile with a 2 point advantage over James Skuse. However, with Stuart and James due to face each other in the final round, James's superior shots difference means the winner of that game will take the title.

BRING IT ON!
