SEASON REVIEW - UNDER 13's

Our Coach Mark Bosworth gave his view on another successful season for the Under 13's

"Another great season for Nettleham u13 finishing joint second in the A league and winning the league cup 🏆 unbeaten since the 28th September 👏

They’re a great group to coach and it’s been a fantastic season of development again.

Managers player Harry

Another fantastic season for Harry always gives it everything in training & matches. Loves a big tackle and has played a huge part in helping the team get to where they are today. Harry is technically very good and has power left foot. Team leader 👏🏆

Isaac & Kharbi

Isaac our captain. Sets a great example every week, runs his socks off and is a fantastic team player 👏 unbelievable season

Kharbi only joined the team this year and earned instance respect not only with his quality on the ball but is a great communicator on the pitch and is a magnet for the ball ⚽️ again a great team leader.

Most improved

Saul

Saul’s had a great season. Every season he’s one of the most improved players. He always gets stuck in and not afraid to go head to head with some of the best players in the league. He’s hard working and will do whatever roll is needed for the team. He’s stepped up when we really needed him 💪

Top goalscorer

Isaac

Unbelievable season, get’s better every year. 37 league goals from 16 games. 9 goals from 4 cup games and over 50 goals (I’ve lost count) including friendly’s 👏 he’s no tap in merchant and has scored some unbelievable individual goals what any professional striker would be proud of, as well as some very well worked team goals. What a boy 🤩

Great team, great set of boys and amazing parents. Proud of them all and they are all fantastic players.

FINAL REVIEW - UNDER 18's

After a long and emotional season we can final close that chapter in our book. The lads gave it their all and showed they deserve a spot not only in the under 18s but also in the Reserves and First team.

These set of lads are remarkable and deserves every bit of glory that comes their way in life, it was an honour to share their final season in youth football.

Reflecting on the season we massively overachieved, making it to two semi finals, a cup final and being crowned league champions

SEASON REVIEW - UNDER 11 NETTLES

Coaches Andy and Harvey gave their thoughts on a great season for our Nettles.

"Every season we set targets both individually and as a team, so opting to play in a higher division it was going to be a season of new challenges for the players.

This team is about being on a football journey, early years were spent developing the children as friends and teammates and as we have progressed to this stage, pushed the football development closer to the surface.
It was clear from the start of the season, the group was more than ready for these challenges, and victories over teams that we thought were out of our reach a year or 2 ago showed that we are very much moving in the right direction. Some of the football on show was fantastic to see and for that we are so proud of them all.
As we reached the winter months we experienced hurdles that we haven't faced before, injuries ! In the space of a few weeks we lost a number of players due to varying reasons and some for an extended period of time.
This left the team depleted, but when the weather played nice, they showed great character and a determination that will stand them in good stead for the future. The excellent performances kept on coming and it is really a pleasure to be part of this group.

Thank you to all the hard work behind the scenes lead by John Thornton, To our parents who deserve so much credit for their continued commitment to the team and our new kit sponsors The Bottle & Glass Scothern."

SEASON REVIEW - UNDER 8 NETTLES

Coach Jack Darby gave us a round up of a great season for our Nettles.

The Nettles have made wonderful progress this year on and off the pitch. They had a tough season in a strong B League and faced numerous A Leage sides in the cup as well but always gave their all and scored some incredible goals.

Making it through to the last 8 of the cup was a great achievement the boys are very proud of.

All of the players have worked incredibly hard in all positions and have greater skill and understanding of the game going into Under 9s.

A fantastic season with a wonderful group of players and families who are a credit to the club !

SEASON REVIEW - UNDER 11's

Manager Dave Skelton provided his thoughts on an excellent season again for our Under 11.

"As we reflect on the season, it is important to recognise what a fantastic year it has been for our Under 11s team. Competing in a very strong and highly competitive A League, the boys have shown tremendous commitment, determination, and character throughout the campaign.
The season has provided many challenges, but the players have embraced them and grown significantly both individually and collectively. One of the most pleasing aspects has been the development of the team spirit within the squad. The boys have learned to work harder for one another, communicate better on the pitch, and understand the importance of playing as a team.
There have been some outstanding performances throughout, where the quality of football, effort, and attitude on display have been exceptional. Against strong opposition, the boys have demonstrated courage, skill, and a desire to compete, producing football that everyone involved with the team can be proud of.
There have also been some ups and downs along the way. However, these matches have provided valuable learning opportunities. The players have shown resilience by responding positively to setbacks and using them as motivation to improve and develop.
What has stood out most is the progress made across the entire squad. Players have improved technically, tactically, and mentally, while building confidence and gaining valuable experience playing at a high level. Their willingness to learn and their commitment to training have been key factors in their development.
A huge thank you goes to all the players for their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the season. Thank you also to the parents and supporters for their continued encouragement and support from the sideline every week.
The future is very bright for this group. If the boys continue to work hard, support one another, and maintain their positive attitude, there is no doubt they will continue to achieve great things together"

END OF SEASON REVIEW - UNDER 10

Following our Presentation afternoon, Coaches Nick and Mark gave their thoughts on a very successful 25/26 season.

"We’re incredibly proud of our boys this year. They’ve competed at a high level in every game and, at times, played some truly brilliant football. It’s also been another season where we’ve seen one of our talented lads progress to the Lincoln City Academy, a real testament to the strength and quality within this group.

After what felt like a tough start, the progress has been fantastic to see. Not just in footballing ability, but in behaviour, teamwork, and the way the boys support each other. Some of our best performances have come when they’ve backed one another, bought into what we’ve asked, and given everything they’ve got. Ultimately, that’s all we ever want from them; to try their best, give their all, and enjoy their football with a smile on their face.

We finished the season in style, winning the Lincoln City Play on the Pitch tournament! a day the boys will never forget, and truthfully, neither will we.

A huge thank you, as always, to our sponsors: Short Ferry, Pretty in Pink, and L&R Landscaping & Joinery. Without their support, we wouldn’t have the kits, balls, coats and everything else that keeps us going
We now look ahead to Under 11s, with two excellent new boys and families joining our brilliant group. The future looks bright."
