That’s a wrap - 80 weeks .tfp 🫡


The aim with coaching has & always will be to provide the outcome someone needs to the point they can ride solo

That has been achieved & then some with Isaac. From Weight loss & Lifting all the way through to Marathons & Hyrox’s. Isaac has smoked absolutely everything put in front of him, and to a high standard at that

He summed it up perfectly. Proud. The overarching term for everything he has nailed. There has been tough love at times, with the occasional hard conversation but that’s coaching. He trusted me, he bought into it, he executed.

So much so, he has handed in his notice & is going all in on his own career as a PT & Coach. Which is pretty f****** cool if you ask me 🤣

- 1:08:47 Hyrox Solo 🧍‍♂️
- 2:56:42 Marathon 💨
- 1:21:51 Half Marathon 🏃

Numbers don’t lie & they are mega across the board. Unreal 80 weeks of hard work

But that’s not all. I’ve seen the lad back from day 1 disappear. The confidence, the self belief, the general health & wellbeing have all sky rocketed. The lad I used to know vs the lad I now know are two different people.

A few from training so far this week 🤝

Lifting to:

- get strong
- the mental benefits
- build muscle (partnered with nutrition)
- bullet proof the legs

Lifting doesn’t just have to be about being the leanest & meanest 🤷‍♂️

From a non-runner to an ultra runner in under 2 years ⬇️

131.67km ✅

1️⃣ GET COMFORTABLE ON YOUR FEET - sending a 5km unfortunately won’t build your ability to stay on the 1’s & 2’s for prolonged periods

2️⃣ FUEL - if you want to run long distances you have to eat the amount of food to match it. Otherwise injuries are inevitable

3️⃣ STRENGTH TRAINING - those legs won’t bullet proof themselves. Lifting & Plyo’s help your resilience & running economy

4️⃣ BE HAPPY IN YOUR OWN COMPANY - most won’t get it. That’s fine! But understand these types of goals require independence and an element of loneliness

5️⃣ SUPPORT - I will never do this alone. The day & the build up you have alot to think about before the “how” & “when”. Get someone else to do it for you

6️⃣ FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU - this will massively differ. Some are more strategic, some are more unhinged

So the takeaway from this should be. Long distance running is lonely & takes time, alongside a whole load of work & planning.

However…

These sorts of runs can unlock potential & show you what you are truly capable of 🤷‍♂️

We are back (hopefully) 🤟

Aside from a couple of races thrown in. Running has been pretty non-existent

Safe to say it has shown me, whatever route I want to go down running will be the backbone of that

Hyrox, Ironman, Ultra Endurance - the base will always be running. The last few months of not doing it killed the love for training to say the least

A bit of self reflection and something had to change. The aim is to get back racing from November onwards. That wont happen by chance but by putting the work in and focusing on what I can do rather than what I can’t

For now the staples:
- eat 80% clean & a slight surplus
- strength train 4x per week
- run 1x (eventually 2x)

That’s it for now. Minimal pressure, just enjoyment. A slight surplus to add some tissue ,drive performance & promote recovery then towards the back end we can get dancing again 💃

Another big shift from the team 💥

I wont name the lad (due to his request) but it has been a serious stint. So much so that this was wrapped up within 18 weeks

This is what can be achieved when:
- you tick boxes
- dont find excuses
- get your head down & work

The mission from day 1 was simple. Get fitter, lost 4-5 stone & be more functional with day to day life & his young family

Mission success ✅ Could not be more proud of the work that has been put in

Back to basics 🫡

Sim 1:07:36 ✅

Based on previous experiences, a sim that really reflects where I am at. No Roxzone, but a run loop of 1.2km meaning it reflects a pretty accurate race

Back in Feb .fit & I dropped a 1:11 in Katowice 🇵🇱 Since then we have both taken on several races & dropped 3mins+ off the time. The work is paying off

A few more solos lined up for us both towards the end of this year before 2027 we take on more doubles pushing towards the 60 mark 🤝

For now, the training continues, with after the BYU in July a much needed “off season” before ramping up again heading into September 💃

The last 24hours ☁️

A trip for the evening down to Birmingham to watch a legend of the game - DK

It got me thinking. A night with good people listening to music which resonates with alot

There were tears at this gig. Many of which were lads who wrongly wont want to admit it. Likely, lads that feel they can’t do this anywhere else

you are doing Gods work. Work which in reality you shouldn’t have to

I also received a message during the gig which reminds me why I do what I do

There are so many people out there struggling. Many of which who act like they aren’t & I’ll be the first to admit at times that’s me!

Not for sympathy but because it is okay & it is entirely normal.

There is a hell of a lot of sh*te going on across the world right now, so f****** look out for each other
