We are a caring, professional and dedicated dance school that nurtures and inspires students with fun and exciting classes for 2-18 years across Lincoln.

Take exams, perform in shows and competitions Lisa Hurst Dance runs unique dance classes at 4 locations across Lincoln. We provide a welcoming and friendly environment to dance in all at pocket friendly prices in Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics, Street Dance, Commercial and Jazz/,Lyrical. We offer high quality provision from qualified teachers so whether you are just starting out or have been dancing for

years, if you are wanting a career in dance or its just a hobby we have different styled and ability classes to suit everyone. Our classes start from now start from 18 months plus right through to 16 years. We provide lots of opportunities for our students to take part in from different workshops with industry professional to fun holiday dance days. They also perform in our annual showcases, our award ceremonies and at different local events. Students can be entered into examinations and medal tests for a variety of dance styles. With the majority of our students gaining top marks in their exams. We also offer opportunities to compete across the UK at competitions and festivals. We are caring, professional and dedicated to each and every student to nurture and inspire them to be the best they can be. Our locations:

☃️❄️ Our first workshop of Summer 2026 is.......... Frozen ❄️☃️

Thursday 6th August 2026
10 am to 12.15 pm
The Boiler House, Birchwood

Step into a magical winter adventure at our Frozen-Inspired Dance Workshop for children aged 3–7 years! This exciting, jam-packed experience is filled with dancing, creativity, and fun. Young performers will learn a variety of dance styles, build confidence, and explore movement through enchanting Frozen-inspired routines. Along the way, they'll enjoy exciting themed games, make new friends, and get creative with lots of magical crafts to take home and treasure. With plenty of music, imagination, and icy fun, this is the perfect workshop for little ones who love to dance, play, and create in a truly unforgettable Frozen-inspired experience! ❄️✨👑

The workshop is open to both Lisa Hurst Dance students and those that don't normally attend our regular classes.

✨ A sneak peek at some of our Grade 1 & 2 Acro students on a Tuesday as they prepare for their Acrobatics exams in just a few weeks! 🤸‍♀️💪

From strength and flexibility training to perfecting their skills and technique, our students have been showing incredible dedication, focus, and determination in every class. The dance in the video was the first time they had performed it without us demonstrating or directing.

We're so proud of their progress and can't wait to see all their hard work shine on exam day. Keep practicing, keep believing, and keep reaching for your goals! 🌟

The countdown is officially on, only 4 weeks until our Ballet, Tap & Street Dance exams 🩰👞🖤

Now is the time to keep showing up, keep practising and trust all the hard work you’ve already put in. Every class, every correction and every extra run-through is building confidence and helping you grow. 🌟

Remember — progress doesn’t happen overnight, it happens one practice at a time. Stay positive, believe in yourself and enjoy the journey. We already know how much dedication and determination our dancers have shown 💜

✨ DANCE STYLE HIGHLIGHT - TAP ✨

Tap dance isn’t just about rhythm — it’s about you discovering new moves, building amazing skills, and feeling the beat in every step.

We learn lots of things including Tap Technique, Terminology as well as Dance routines. We also have the opportunity to be entered in for Tap exams and perform in shows.

So if you're interested, come enjoy one of our tap dances in one of our many locations.

Over the next couple of days, we are excited to welcome Isabelle who is completing her work experience at Lisa Hurst Dance!

Here is a little bit from her:

" I am really looking forward to being at Lisa Hurst Dance for my work experience this week. I hope to learn about all aspects of being a dance teacher, including how to advertise classes, teach younger students, create choreography, and manage the administrative side of running a dance business.

I’m excited to gain hands-on experience, develop new skills, and learn more about everything that goes into teaching dance. I’m also looking forward to working with the team and meeting lots of talented dancers along the way."

Just a little reminder that our Saturday classes are at Bailgate Methodist Church for this week only. This will be for the last time this term and then we will be back to our normal location.

Our Flutterby and Beginner ballerinas are twirling their way to the magical Toy Kingdom this term! 💜👑

We are so proud to celebrate the students who have received their letters inviting them to begin their pointe journey!

Reaching this milestone is a reflection of years of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and commitment—both inside and outside the studio. From countless classes to the focus and discipline required to build the strength needed for pointe work, each student has truly earned this achievement.

Being invited to dance en pointe is a special accomplishment and not one that every ballet student reaches. It represents technical readiness, maturity, and a strong foundation in classical ballet, making it a moment worth celebrating.
