The barbell deadlift is a fundamental compound exercise that builds total-body strength, targeting your hamstrings, glutes, spinal erectors, upper back, and core ✔️

Executing it with proper form is crucial to maximize muscle engagement and prevent lower back injuries ✔️

How to Perform a Barbell Deadlift with Perfect FormThe Setup ⬇️

Walk to the bar. Position your feet hip-width apart. The bar should be over your mid-foot.The Grip: Hinge at your hips. Bend your knees slightly. Grip the bar just outside your legs using an overhand or mixed grip.The Position: Drop your hips. Flatten your back completely. Pull your shoulder blades down and back to engage your lats ✔️

The Pull: Push through your feet. Keep the bar close to your shins. Drive your hips forward to stand up straight.The Lockout: Squeeze your glutes at the top. Do not hyper-extend or lean back ✔️

The Descent: Hinge at your hips first. Lower the bar under control. Keep it close to your thighs and shins ✔️

Training clients - Lower body strength

The reverse box lunge (often called a deficit reverse lunge) is a highly effective lower-body exercise that increases your range of motion by starting from an elevated surface ✔️

By stepping backward off a small box or platform, you allow your hips to drop lower than a standard lunge, placing your glutes and hamstrings under an incredible stretch✔️
