What many people outside of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu don't realise is that a Blue Belt isn't simply a reward for turning up. It's a sign that someone has stayed the course long enough to move beyond being a complete beginner and they have built a solid foundation of skills, understanding, and mat awareness.
There isn't a set amount of time it takes. Some people get there quicker than others. What matters is consistent effort, a willingness to learn, and the ability to keep showing up even when progress feels slow.
The journey to Blue Belt is often where most people discover whether they truly enjoy Jiu-Jitsu. The excitement of the first few week’s fades, life gets busy, motivation comes and goes, yet they continue to train, learn, and improve. more people quit before Blue Belt than ever reach it. That's what makes the achievement special.
Congratulations to our newest Blue Belts. The promotion is recognition of the work you've put in so far, but it's also the beginning of the next stage of your journey.
Well deserved. 👏🥋
