Lincoln Flickers was the brainchild of enthusiasts John Devaney (JD) and Mick Brien, both sadly no longer with us. The inaugural 2010 season, held at The Morning Star, had 9 members including Andy Berry, Andy Boyer and Jez Boothman who are still current members. This initial season was won by an unbeaten Boyer.
2011-12 season saw additions from among others, the Curtis family (Peterboro) and Rich
Meddings (still playing) with membership up to 13 and two divisions. An unbeaten Adrian 'Dippa' Curtis took the title with Boyer having to settle for third spot behind Jez. Rich Meddings stormed League Two.
2012-13 season grew to 16 with Andrew Garbutt and Michael Hardy joining. The late Dippa, again undefeated, proved too strong while the chasers took points from each other. Michael took the honours in the lower division. In the 2013-14 season the venue moved to the Eastgate to accommodate numbers which ironically dropped with Dippa and Sam Curtis leaving (first and second placed). 2014 also saw us lose Mick Brien who passed away in June followed by Peter Warner a few months later; both smashing blokes, valued club players and still missed. Meddings got a first win to one of the top player: 2-0 vs Andrew Garbutt; and the title returned to Boyer in a new format that only JD understood! Division Two went to JD by the way!
2014-15 saw a dip in members to just 5. Boyer took his third title, again undefeated, having beaten Jez 2-0 in one of their clashes.
2015-16 increased to 9 with the return of players along with newcomer Steve Killick and a new session format with players best 5 session points counting. Jez having beaten Boyer on two occasions looked to have secured his first title but maximum points through a 1-0 win against Andrew Garbutt in the final session saw Boyer claim the title once again with 58 pts squeezing out Jez by a solitary point.
