Thoracic Outlet Syndrome ⚡️

To explain in simple terms, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome is when nerves or blood vessels get compressed between your neck and shoulder.

Common symptoms are things such as pins & needles, numbness in the fingers or neck and shoulder pain.

It can sometimes be mistaken for a trapped nerve in the neck, poor circulation or a shoulder injury.

It can be caused by tight chest/pecs, repetitive overhead movements, rounded shoulders/bad posture.

Sports Massage can help by releasing tight muscles, reducing nerve pressure around the area, improving posture and increasing mobility.

You might have this if your arm goes numb when driving, sleeping or holding your phone etc..

DON’T ignore the signs ⚠️

CBD Massage đź’š

A CBD massage is a therapeutic massage that uses oils, lotions, or balms infused with CBD (cannabidiol) which is a non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis (h**p) plant.

Unlike THC, CBD doesn’t make you high. Instead, it’s valued for its potential anti-inflammatory, analgesic (pain-relieving), and relaxing effects.

It may help with conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, IT Band Syndrome and so many more.

What is fascia?

Fascia is a thin, tough, elastic type of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber, and muscle in place.

Why do we have fascia?

We have fascia because the body needs structure, protection, and a way to coordinate movement.
Fascia helps to, hold everything together, reduce friction between moving parts and transmit force generated by muscles.

What does fascia do?

Fascia has several important roles, such as:
* Structural support: It maintains body shape and keeps organs and muscles in the right place.

* Movement coordination: It allows muscles to slide smoothly over each other and transfers motion efficiently.

* Protection and shock absorption: It cushions and protects internal parts.

* Pathway for communication: It contains nerves and can transmit signals related to pain, movement, and pressure.

* Influences posture and flexibility: Restrictions or adhesions in fascia can affect how we move and feel.

In short, fascia is the silent system working behind the scenes to keep your body stable, connected, and responsive.

DID YOU KNOW ?

When properly applied, Kinesiology Tape Cotton gently lifts the skin, which can help reduce pressure on injured areas. This lifting action improves lymphatic flow, aiding in the removal of excess fluid (swelling) and helping to reduce bruising.

In the picture you will see the injured area (hematoma), the application of Kinesiology Tape and the results after the tape is removed 🤩

A hematoma is a localised collection of blood that pools outside of blood vessels in the body’s tissues or spaces. It’s essentially a bad bruise that occurs when a blood vessel is damaged by injury, surgery, or blood thinners.

The glutes are in your buttocks. The reason why we refer to our 'glutes' instead of our 'glute' is because they are made up of three different muscles which includes the gluteus maximus, the gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus.

Their biggest job is in keeping us upright and pushing our bodies forward. Strong gluteals are important for proper pelvic alignment, power/momentum during walking and running, and even standing on one leg. Gluteals also help support the lower back during lifting, and help prevent knee injuries.

When your glutes are weak, they can cause decreased mobility in the hips, and the body then over-compensates for that lack of function and mobility from those two areas, which then leads to improper use of the rest of the muscles and functions in the body.

If your glutes are weak the best way to help strengthen them would be resistance training..

Some exercises that can be performed are:
• Reverse lunges
• Step Ups
• Glute Kickbacks
• Glute Bridges

Most of these exercises could be done with resistance bands to make them more challenging!

Rolling massage ball/tennis ball under the foot is a manual soft tissue manipulation technique.
This can help to improve circulation and stimulate blood flow to the arch of the foot, it is known to reduce cortisol levels and relax/loosen muscles and ligaments that are tight and constricted which aids in recovery and healing.

Do you know someone who might need to see this ?
