Congratulations to Eli who is this weeks best boxer after an excellent very impressive first head sparring session. The transition from body sparring to head sparring is huge, but Eli showed great composure. Well done 🥊🥊

Izzy Lockley lost on a 3-2 split decision to the London champion Abigail Hallam. Izzy landed the cleaner, classier shots, but Abi was relentless throughout this very close contest. Neither club would have argued whichever way the verdict went and Izzy should feel very proud of her performances that took her to the Midlands title 🥊🥊

Well, every picture tells a story! England boxing’s decision to only have an over 80kg weight category meant that Sam had to give away a massive 12kg to the East Midlands champion. Sam struggled to cope with his opponents huge height, reach and weight advantage, losing on a unanimous decision. Sam showed a huge amount of courage and tried his hardest. We are all really proud of Sam and he will only get stronger 🥊🥊

Many thanks to Tamworth boxing club for inviting us to their ladies only sparring session last night. Our Izzy had some great rounds of sparring with Maria Kyriakou from Fortress ABC who won this years senior development title at 54kg and Isobel Homer from Aston ABC who won this years senior development title at 60kg. This is great preparation for Izzy’s national semifinal bout this coming Saturday in Kettering.

We are really delighted for Isobel Lockley who put on her best performance for the club today at Acocks Green. Isobel outpointed the hard hitting North-west regions champion Summer Hargrieves.
Isobel used good footwork and a great punch variety to subdue the ever advancing Hargrieves who definitely came to win.
Isobel now advances to the national semifinals in 2 weeks time where she will join her club mate Sam Harvey, both gunning for national success.

Big thank you to Head coach Jason Callum and Lee Kelly for all of their work with preparing Izzy for today.

Royal Leamington Spa ABC’s Isobel Lockley won the Midlands 57kg Female Development final in Acocks Green on Sunday
Boxing Mia Hull of DnA ABC both girls got off to a fast start but using her longer jab Izzy started to dominate the contest throwing and landing far more shots than her opponent with Mia starting to tire in the second round as Izzy continued to press.Mia rallied at the start of the final round but cheered on by her family and friends Izzy again upped her work rate and closed out the contest winning on a 4-1 split decision.
