It was a busy night of league and social chess at The King’s Head on Monday, including this derby match in Cannock & District Division 3.

The first of many Cannock League derbies for Lichfield saw the Division 3A team beat 3B 3-1 in an entertaining evening of chess at The King's Head.

A great win to start the season in Birmingham Division 5!

Lichfield's Birmingham Division 5 side got off to a flyer in their first match of the season, defeating Walsall Kipping 3.5 - 0.5 in a match at The Guildhall.

A report on the first Derbyshire Chess Association League match of the season, between two Burton & Lichfield teams. Our 'A' team defeated the 'B' team 3.5 - 0.5.

At The Burton Bridge, Burton & Lichfield 'A' took on the newly promoted B&L 'B' team in Derby Division 1. The 3.5 - 0.5 victory for the 'A' Team was less comfortable than it might appear, with all four games being closely contested.

We're back at Guildhall Lichfield tomorrow for our traditional season opener, the annual Members' Quickplay!

The traditional start of the new chess season for members, The Lichfield Quickplay, will take place at The Guildhall on Thursday August 27th, starting at 7:15pm.
