Lindy Hop and Balboa Dance Lessons alternating weekly in Lichfield - Thursdays at Lichfield Methodist Church Centre. (Check for specific dates as we have gaps between rounds of classes)

Basics and Beyond Classes - Lindy Hop/Balboa- 7pm-7.45pm. Over several modules, these classes cover all the fundamental moves of the dance (There a

re a lot!) We recommend that everyone does this class including our experienced dancers. In this class we include more complicated figures and adapt the fundamental moves and vary them to allow you to develop personal style and create unique routines. You need to be able to do and know the names of all the fundamental moves before moving to the advanced class. If you try to move up too quickly, you end up undoing all the good learning you have already done. Call if you’d like to discuss. Social/practice 9-9.30pm


Classes £8 per person or £10 for both classes. There is no need to book. Just turn up on the night. Bring a bottle of water.

Are there any dancers out there who might be able to help out for a good cause?
I’ve been contacted by someone who runs a dementia club. They are having an anniversary celebration on the 2nd July and would like some dancers to go along and do a 15/20 minute slot.
It’s in Sutton Coldfield and our slot would be about 3.30pm. The D Day Darlings are also doing a similar length slot so we could listen to them too. Lunch is at 12.30 if you fancy getting there early for that.

Just a reminder for any beginners who will be joining the next round of lindy hop classes: You are invited to come along at 9 this evening to learn and practice the footwork. You can also video to take away and practice over the next few weeks before we start Lindy on the 16th July x

It’s the final balboa class of this round tomorrow. Lindy next week then 2 weeks off and we‘re back with balboa. If there are any new beginners starting lindy hop or balboa in the next round (or if you’ve started this round and still fell like you need the practice), we invite them to come along at 9pm tomorrow for bal or next week for Lindy for half an hour to learn and practise the basic footwork. They can also video it which will help them to practice over the next couple of weeks. They might also like to join us in the pub for a drink after.
New class dates for the next round:
Balboa: 9, 23 July, 6, 20 August, 3 September
Lindy hop: 16,30 July, 13, 27 August, 10th September.

This Saturday!!!!. Book online for cheaper tickets….can be even done on Saturday… Saves us taking money on the door too... Leaves everyone free for dancing. 💕xx

What a great weekend thanks to everyone who came from our gang .. for your company and the dances. I hope everyone is lying down at home by now. I shall be very soon! In my quiet moments, I had chance to look out and see you all dancing. Everyone without exception was looking good and enjoying themselves. This is what it’s all about.. the hard graft in lessons pays off. Our Lichfield dance Saturday night. Leicester balboa Sunday. Humdinger the next weekender 🎉🎉. Maybe not too late to sign up.
If you didn’t do Nighthawks this weekend .. think about it for next year. Very inexpensive .. free camping run by dancers for dancers. All the bands brilliant. Can’t guarantee this year’s weather though. See you all Thursday xx

Just looking ahead to the fabulous summer we have ahead of us. Nighthawks is the first of the summer weekend festivals..now only two weeks away. Lots of our gang will be there. We’ve got our evening dance on the 30th, Humdinger Weekender in June. In July, there’s a Lichfield balboa dance on the 5th with Leeds City Stompers- what a great band they are, Birmingham Jazz Festival (we always have at least one day together there.. dancing around the city to the great bands), 1940s weekend, Rock Bottoms weekender. August bank holiday weekend brings Twinwood Festival, Chasewater 1940 weekend. Our Shrewsbury tea dance 6th September. This is just to name a few. There are also choices every weekend of dances to go to and Lindy or Balboa lessons with other teachers from around the UK and the world. There is really only just enough time at home to get packed for the next event!
Jumping ahead to the end of the year, we have booked the ever popular at all swing dance events - Hot House Combo for our Christmas party on the 28th November.
If your diary isn’t full up.. get booking! This is what it’s all about Xx
