Huge congrats to who crushed her first Solo Hyrox last weekend at Birmingham! 💪🏻

Terriann and I have worked together through both online coaching and 1:1 PT sessions to build the strength, endurance and confidence to equip her for a variety of events and challenges.

This includes completing her first half marathon last month and even taking up Netball in her free time. 🏃‍♀️

Super proud of how far we have come and all her achievements so far. Looking forward to the next challenges in the pipeline for the new year. 🤞🏻

Ironman Nice ✅

🏊🏻‍♂️ 3.8km
🚴🏻‍♂️ 180km
🏃🏻‍♂️ 42.2km

Everyone’s first Ironman is a memorable experience and so was mine, for all the right reasons!

With gorgeous weather (26°C) and insane crowds the 10:45hrs of racing flew by.

Swimming out into the Mediterranean with 2500 other athletes was an experience on its own.
After taking it steady through transition I settled down onto the bike. After being warned by the organisers that the bike course is one of the hardest on any Ironman I was looking forward to climbing the 2400m of elevation and technical descents along some of the most stunning roads I’ve ridden on!
After what can only be described as a very successful bike ride I slotted through transition 2 and onto the run.
Four laps of Promenade Des Anglais along the Nice sea front. With the heat starting to get to me and a little bit eager start to the run I decided to back the pace off and prioritise keeping body temperature to a manageable level (no need to recreate my Marathon Des Sables experience🫣).
Focusing on keeping the liquids flowing and a good hosing off at each aid station while being pulled along by the crowds I am proud to say I crossed the line with my head held high and one hell of a grimace of pain on my face 🤘🏻

With a lot of experience racing high profile events I was interested to see if Ironman really did live up to the hype people talk about. My honest opinion is that it did and I will definitely be going back for more 💪🏻

For anyone thinking about doing an Ironman and looking for some advice, guidance and coaching drop me a DM 👍🏻

This is what coaching is all about, supporting people to achieve their true potential 🤘🏻 Well done mate.

Race Insight from

“I signed up to Ironman 70.3 Alcudia-Majorca about a year ago. I was looking for a new outlet outside of work and just so happened to befriend a couple of guys from my local gym, who’d had their previous entry into the race cancelled due to Covid. I’d never really thought too much about triathlon, let alone an Ironman event. It sounded difficult, something you couldn’t simply roll out of bed and do, but this was exactly what I needed.

The event itself was incredible, a spectacle even. Nearly 4,000 athletes descended upon the town of Alcudia on the island of Majorca, Spain.

Lining up on the beach at 7am as AC/DC rolled out across the water was immense, butterflies in full flight. The water was inviting with great visibility throughout.
The bike route was also stunning. Some consider Majorca to be the cycling Mecca, I now know why. There’s a tough climb about 30km in which takes around an hour, but the views are worth it.

For the run, it’s 3x7km loops around the town and along the boardwalk parallel to the beach. I was originally put off from the idea of a loop route, but it’s littered with supporters and in the end, it didn’t feel at all repetitive due to the buzz from the crowed.

Looking back upon the training in preparation for the event, it was arguably very forgiving. Harry took the time to understand my personal circumstances and the challenges faced when working across different time zones and this made all the difference. I am undoubtedly one of his worst behaving clients, but although it didn’t seem like it, I did what was needed to step onto the red carpet (my ultimate goal was to finish). But not only that, I was able to set a huge PB in the swim (00:31) and still complete the remaining disciplines in times that were very respectable for a first timer (03:30 + 02:20)!

Having Harry as a coach made my life so easy. Truthfully, without you this wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you for all of your dedication, hard work and patience in getter me there.”

Dedication, determination and a race ex*****on resulting in a time he never thought was possible.

came to me late last year after running a 3:42 at Chester Marathon. His aim was to run a sub 3:30 at Manchester.
After a solid 6months of training and a hell of a lot of progress Tom knocked 28mins off his PB finishing with a 3:14 at Manchester Marathon! A time we are both super proud of.
After a period of recovery we followed this huge achievement up with a sub 1:30 target at Birmingham Half Marathon. Executing negative splits to perfection on the day, Tom pulled out an insane 1:28!!!
Bring on the ultras!

The final event/challenge of the year is done and dusted for all of the Athletes involved. Matt, Simon and Tom all went into Telford 10km with a PB as the target. All Targets were achieved including a 5km PB for Matt in the process. With all three lads having huge goals going into next year it was great to finish this year on a high with some specific speed work before some serious volume come January. Great work guys and cant wait to see what next year brings.

Marathons, Ultras and Ironmans are coming and we will be ready💪

⚡ Testimonial ⚡

Matt’s honesty, transparency, and willingness to trust the process, not only to benefit his performance in his intended race but also with the goal of developing his readiness for future challenges, has meant he has taken away from this training block far more than just a PB. Matt now has the confidence to believe in himself more than ever before, understanding his body and mind and what he is truly capable of. Working with him has been a pleasure and I can't wait to see what he does next!
Testimonial:
“I've trained with Harry for nearly a year now, Amsterdam being our second Marathon cycle in that time. What I value most about training with Harry is the time he takes to understand my reasons for taking on these events and what motivates me. It feels like we're a team working towards a goal together rather than just being told what pace to run and how far.

Whilst we are targeting and running specific events, the overarching theme to Harry's time coaching me is always oriented towards learning and growth. Journey over destination. Process over outcomes.

With this approach to his coaching alongside the tailored training plans he sends through weekly on Training Peaks and always-available support, I am achieving more than I ever thought possible... But moreover I'm going into events such as Amsterdam having enjoyed the training, enjoyed challenging myself and with a strong positive mindset.”

🚨Dave’s York Marathon Race Report🚨

Running your best Marathon possible isn’t often pretty or enjoyable for that matter. If you want to run your best possible time you have to be willing to suffer. With an amazing training block and multiple goals going into next summer, Dave was in great shape to smash his sub 4hr target. With a bit of persuasion, trust and a willingness to hurt he went on to do just that. Absolutely smashing his PB!
Here's how it went:

“The race started, I positioned myself in front of the 3:45hr pacers which I thought was potentially optimistic even though Harry believed otherwise. A target pace of 5:20min/km or around 8:30min/mile was set on my Garmin and so off I went to try and get a 3:45hr marathon.
At 3.5miles I had to stop for the Portaloo.
At mile 21, I started to feel a bit heavier on my feet for the first time in the race. The hardest part of the race with no crowd support and heavy, stiff legs with a burning hip flexor was miles 22-24, meaning running form was increasingly difficult to maintain. I was hoping at this stage that I had enough time in the bank to be able to achieve the 3:45 that we'd targeted.
With just 2 miles to go, concerned about my lack of pace I looked over my shoulder to see where the 3:45 pace setters were in relation to me (couldn't see them) but the change in gait and position immediately sent my calves into a cramp. I managed to slow down, and readjust.
Feeling sick, wretching, and struggling to maintain a decent pace, a sprint finish was off the cards, I just had to get my head down and get it done.
Finishing with an official time of 03:40:12. I took a few minutes to come around, and for the sick feeling to subside - managed to not throw up over my own feet. I was surprised at the end result (I went to Harry targeting a sub 4hr!) and, had I not been subjected to the stiffness in the legs, felt sure that I could have run considerably faster than I did on the day.”

🚨Simon’s Chicago Marathon Race Report 🚨

I real insight into what it’s like running another one of the World Marathon Majors.

“Race day started off early morning leaving the hotel at 5.30am for a 7.30am start. Conditions were perfect, lows of 6 degrees warming up to 12 degrees, a little cloud cover and no wind.
The first 5k was quite congested so I rolled with the crowds and took in the atmosphere. The next 5k, I warmed into the race and found my comfort zone as it opened up. I took this pace into the next 10k leading me to the half way point where I felt pretty strong having fueled well. Water stations were using cups which I adjusted to quickly.
Around mile 15 to 18, I noticed a slight twinge in the arch of my right foot but adrenaline kept that at bay until mile 20.

The final 10k I took all pressure off myself as enjoying the race was more important than long term suffering with previous injuries in mind. Listening to my body, I ran most of it, walked through every other water station and embraced the crowds. Before I knew it, the finish line awaited and I bagged my 2nd world major. Something 6 months ago, I thought would never happen.”

Completing a challenge you’ve set yourself is always the goal…

However it is not the sole purpose of setting a challenge.

It’s reality that not all challenges you set you’ll be able to complete for what ever reason.

This does not mean you have failed.

Instead realise the reason you set that challenge was to test yourself, learn something new and especially take something from it to benefit those challenges that lie ahead.

After pulling the plug at 85km of my 100km challenge on Saturday I couldn’t have been happier with my choice of when to stop and what I learnt through those 85km!

Attempting to run 100km isn’t the hardest thing I’ve done but it is the hardest thing I’ve done since Marathon Des Sables and has helped massively to gauge where I am at both physically and mentally ready for London to Paris in November.

Don’t shy away from a challenge because of the fear of failure.

Utilise failure as an opportunity to build a more resilient you!

Tomorrow as part of my training towards running London to Paris in November I will be undertaking a monotonous 100km running challenge going anti-clockwise 5x around my usual Saturday morning training route! With a 5am start time and all my snacks prepped, I’m buzzing to get this one started! Follow along on my story for updates👍🏻

For anyone out there with their own challenges in mind but not sure how to make them work logistically or how to train for them drop me a DM and we can have a chat. The first step is surrounding yourself with people to support you and your goals
